Oliver tutored our 16-year-old son for 6 weeks over the summer. We were looking for a tutor to help our son develop his writing and reading comprehension skills. Oliver's teaching techniques were fantastic. After our first discussion, where we communicated our needs and goals for our son, Oliver tailored a detailed, specialized curriculum and timeline that specifically targeted ways to strengthen our son's areas for growth. Oliver was diligent with his follow-up, and was extremely flexible and patient with our son. He constantly encouraged our son to think deeper, and helped push him out of his comfort zone, developing his reading comprehension and critical thinking skills. Florrie is a kind and enthusiastic teacher. She talks about the plans for the lesson at the very beginning of each one which helps my son to have better a understanding of what to expect. She asks plenty of questions throughout the lesson to encourage him to think and express himself. The only downside is that our half an hour lesson feels like ten minutes because we are so engaged and having lots of fun learning!
