Patient, upbeat and encouraging English tutor
Since I started tutoring over 6 years ago now, during a summer break in my first degree, I've only grown to love working with young people more and more. All of them surprise me with the insight they're capable of and how much they're able to achieve with just a little encouragement! I'm especially proud of my students who've achieved passing grades when retaking their English Language GCSEs, including a student who achieved a 5 this summer after multiple times receiving a 3.My particular expertise, though, is in Religious Studies - I have a Master's with Distinction and BA with a First in (Christian)...

Emily worked with my daughter for 2 years on A level English - my daughter struggled with the volume of texts in the curriculum and Emily helped her to focus and consolidate her skills to get the grade she needed. Over and above this, Emily is kind, warm and supportive - I would recommend her to other A level students. Thanks Emily!

Her patience was undoubtedly one of the first thing i noticed about her tutoring, and as a consequence, I was able to learn at a pace that felt most comfortable to me! Equally her style of tutoring and constant pushing of me to go further for A level English is something i couldnt have asked for more of!!Thank you Aileen, it has been a pleasure having you as a tutor :)

Dr Lucy Y
As a parent, I cannot recommend Lucy highly enough. While my daughter was already doing well in English, she needed extra guidance to truly master the deeper analysis required for the top grades.Lucy was definitely exactly what we were looking for,she was able to effectively teach my daughter how to break down texts and articulate arguments with a level of sophistication that wasn't really taught at her school. The impact was immediate - my daughter's analysis became much more mature, and she constantly told me she wished she had found Lucy sooner. My daughter really enjoyed her lessons with Lucy -she created a wonderfully positive encouraging environment that kept my daughter motivated and engaged! If you want a tutor who will be able to genuinely elevate your child's confidence and skills, look no further - she is absolutely fantastic!
