We have worked with Ed as our 15 year old's GCSE Maths tutor for the last 15 months, and now as his GCSE English tutor for the past 3 months too. We fully intend to keep working with him until our son has completed his studies, and when the time is right, to have him work with our youngest son too. He is a wonderful fit for our son- he is always energetic, enthusiastic, positive and encouraging, focussing on our son's strengths and sensitively shoring up his areas for improvement. He has transformed our teen's attitude toward taking exams and is bringing out the very best efforts in his studies, even beyond Maths and English. He is a natural, gifted teacher who builds confidence while guiding our son through tedious or challenging tasks. I love that he is extremely knowledgeable in his fields and moves easily between topics, being able to cover and touch on very advanced topics if my son happens to ask him a question that isn't immediately before them. While he points out tips for tests as they go along, he doesn't simply teach to test, but uncovers the art and beauty of Maths and English as they go along. I also love that he is willing to work closely with me to design the most interesting ways to make the learning come alive. He certainly fits in with my philosophy that an education must meet my child where he is, honour and see the whole person, use creativity to introduce new concepts, and lively discussion to make it relevant. I believe that Ed has become the type of mentor and teacher that every parent hopes will inspire their child to discover their own greatness. We cannot recommend him highly enough.

Hassan is a fantastic maths tutor. He knows the subject very well and adapts his teaching to help me understand the topic. He's friendly and professional and for me as an adult learner he understands the challenges with balancing learning and other commitments like work and family. I would highly recommend him!

Terrence has really helped with breaking down topics and understanding key language/terms. It has been great to see my son's understanding of science grow through the structured/exam focused lessons.

My son has had two lessons with Alex so far and he enjoyed them so much. He has had history and english lessons and found them both really great. Tge lessons I must say were well planned to my sons needs. He is looking forward to the next lessons.

I wanted to take an opportunity to Thank Eileen for working tirelessly with my daughter in preparation her for GCSE English. Eileen took an effort to get to know my child, her interests, building on her strengths and working on weaknesses. Eileen planned each lesson to cater specifically to my daughter’s needs and her tight schedule, as well as making the subject as interesting as it can get. Within a short period of time Eileen familiarised my daughter with the structure of each paper, went through each question in detail, showing what the examiners are looking for and set home task for each lesson. It was definitely very helpful that she had discussed what information my daughter should include and then she marked her work, giving pointers how she could improve her answers. Not only that it helped my child to structure her own knowledge, but Eileen showed her how to interpret a topic from different angles, at the same time it enriched her outlook. I really appreciate that throughout the lessons she encouraged my daughter to consider different points of view but also stay true to her own experience and try to write using these as it sounds more genuine and authentic. Overall, we are very grateful and would highly recommend this tutor.
