Experienced Psychology tutor
I have a proven track record of academic success, including an A* in Psychology and A’s in Biology and Chemistry. Unlike traditional tutors, I’ve navigated through the same pressures, deadlines and expectations you’re dealing with. Where I add real value is mastering examiner tricks and teaching clear, structured techniques instead of vague classroom methods. I understand that Psychology is one of the most content based subjects out there, and understand very well that time must be used efficiently. Hi!I am an experienced teacher and was based in the UK for the duration of my career so far.I have recently moved to The Netherlands and am completing my Master's online whilst I'm here.I have taught both OCR and AQA Psychology, but OCR was some time ago so would be far more confident tutoring to the demands of AQA specifically.I have taught both AS and A-level AQA Sociology. My favourite components of AQA psychology to teach have to be social influence, psychopathology, the theoretical approaches and forensic psychology. In terms of sociology; research methods and crime and deviance. I have a thorough...

Amy W
Amy W is very concise and extremely helpful when getting complicated information wrapped around your head. She is super friendly and easy to talk to, which makes sessions comfortable and stress-free. The only hiccup is the wifi choosing to bug out, now and then. But, otherwise, Amy gives a very excellent tutoring experience.

My child is at RGS and aiming for Durham's Psychology course. Can we find a tutor with experience in this?
Absolutely. That's a huge advantage of online tutoring. You're not limited to tutors who live nearby. We can connect your child in newcastle-upon-tyne with tutors across the UK, including those who are graduates of Russell Group universities like Durham and understand exactly what's needed for a successful application.
How can online tutoring specifically help my child get an A or A* in A-Level Psychology?
Our tutors are experts in exam technique. They focus on the key assessment objectives, helping students structure their essays perfectly, use evidence effectively, and understand the nuances of the mark scheme. They can pinpoint weaknesses and turn them into strengths, which is often the difference between a B and an A*.
Is online tutoring as effective as in-person for a subject like Psychology?
Yes, and for many, it's even better. Our online classroom has interactive whiteboards perfect for mapping out theories and essay plans. Tutors can share resources instantly, and the focused, one-to-one environment from the comfort of home means fewer distractions. Plus, you get access to a far wider choice of specialist tutors.
What happens if my child doesn't get on with their first Psychology tutor?
It's so important that your child feels comfortable and understood. If the first session with a tutor isn't the perfect fit, please email our support team at support@tutorful.co.uk and we will cover the cost of your first lesson with a new tutor. We're here to help you find the right person.

How do you vet your tutors?
We're very selective. Every tutor is background-checked and must go through a rigorous application process, including an interview. We only accept 1 in 8 tutors who apply, so you can be confident you're choosing from the very best educators in the UK.
My other child needs help with GCSE Maths. Do you offer tutoring for other subjects?
We do! We have expert tutors across more than 300 subjects, from primary school English and Maths right through to degree-level support and even professional qualifications. You can find a brilliant tutor for every member of your family on Tutorful.

Extremely. You can arrange lessons for any time that suits your family, whether that's after school, on weekends, or during the holidays. Our tutors' availability is shown on their profiles, making it easy to schedule sessions around clubs, homework, and family commitments.
What equipment does my child need for an online lesson?
It's very simple. All your child needs is a laptop or computer with a webcam, a microphone, and a stable internet connection. Our online classroom runs directly in your web browser, so there's no complicated software to install.
Can a tutor help with my child's UCAS personal statement for Psychology?
Many of our A-Level tutors are fantastic at this. They can help your child articulate their passion for Psychology, structure their personal statement, and highlight the skills and experiences that will make their application stand out to admissions tutors at competitive universities.
How soon can we start?
You can start very quickly. Simply use the search filters to find a few tutors you like the look of, send them a message to check their availability, and you could have your first session booked within 24 hours. It's that straightforward.
