Hi / Ciao,First of all may I thank you for checking my profile. Am I the tutor for you?My name is Remo and I grew up in Cardiff in a very Italian setting. As both parents were Italian, I have had the wonderful privilege of experiencing both unique cultures of Italian and English. At home Iwas immersed in a little Italian bubblebut once outside I had the benefit ofBritish / Welsh traditions and life styles. I see this as a very fortunate upbringing that now really helps me to understand both wonderful cultures when teaching either Italian or English. I can relate to both. My career has lead to many...
Bonjour!:)I am a native French speaker and a fully qualified teacher with 26 years experience of teaching in schools and privately. I am also a GCSE examiner each year and I used to be a AS level examiner for AQA too. I teach the right accent: this is part of how you can become a confident speaker and an efficient listener.I also explain how verbs and grammar work and help you practice with relevant, interesting resources. It's easier to learn if you understand the rules and the tricks. You then become more confident and try more and memorize better.I use various teaching methods according to each...

Enthusiastic (and patient) tutor of Languages Tutor for all levels
Hi I have always loved French and have a natural flair and feel for it, so, naturally, I went on to study it atUniversity. My particular course gave me the opportunity to work in both France and Switzerland so I got to experience how people really work and live in both these places.I also travelled widely during my placements to experience the culture and understand the identity of the locals. My family and I have now returned to the UKafter more than 12 years of living and working in Paris. In fact, both my children were born in Paris. I am keen to maintain their level in French so regularly tutor...

Carmen G
During my lessons with Carmen, she was very patient with me when I made errors and mistakes. She didn't judge or reprimand me at all, and instead made me feel confident and comfortable with speaking Spanish. As I am studying the A-Level Spanish course, she would give me extra material to study which relates to the exam topics, and give me practice in speaking, writing and listening. It was a lovely experience and I hope to book her again.

Carol G
Carol is brilliant! She clearly knows her subject inside out and tailors the lessons and homework excellently, too, often adapting ‘on the go’ -as stuff comes up, that leads to interesting tangents of related learning on the subject. She is really friendly …. and interesting, too, with fascinating life experiences, like living in Ibiza for years with her kids when younger. Highly recommended by me? Yes indeed! Look no further, you’ve found a brilliant tutor who provides incredibly good value one to one teaching!

Brilliant Languages tutors who you’ll really click with.
Our experienced tutors take the time to understand where each student needs to focus and their preferred way of learning. They make a measurable difference – 90% of all students improve by at least one grade.
My child is worried about their MFL A-Level for a Cardiff University application. Can a tutor help?
Absolutely. Many of our tutors are experienced in helping students prepare for university applications. They can provide targeted support for A-Level exams, focusing on the specific skills needed to achieve the grades required for competitive courses at Russell Group universities like Cardiff.
How can a tutor help my child balance their Welsh and French GCSE studies?
This is a common concern for parents in Newport, and it's where a tutor can make a real difference. By providing dedicated, one-to-one time for a specific language, a tutor can help reinforce your child's learning, fill in any gaps, and build their confidence so they feel less stretched and more in control of both subjects.
What if my child doesn't click with their first tutor?
We understand that the right fit is important. That's why we have our First Lesson Guarantee. If you don't get on with your tutor, email our support team at support@tutorful.co.uk and we will cover your first session with a new tutor.
How do I pick the right Languages tutor for my child?
You can view each tutor's profile, where you'll find their experience, qualifications, and reviews from other parents. Many tutors also offer a short introductory chat, which is a great way for you and your child to meet them and make sure it's a good match before booking a lesson.
How much does online Languages tutoring cost?
Prices vary depending on the tutor's experience and qualifications. Tutors set their own rates, which are clearly displayed on their profiles, so you can find an experienced tutor that fits your family's budget. There are no hidden fees or contracts.
How does online tutoring actually work?
It's simple and secure. All lessons take place in our online classroom, which features a video chat, an interactive whiteboard, and the ability to share documents. All your child needs is a computer or tablet with a stable internet connection, a webcam, and a microphone.
How can a tutor help my child build confidence in speaking a new language?
One-to-one lessons provide a safe and supportive space for your child to practise speaking without the fear of making mistakes in front of a whole class. Tutors are brilliant at building rapport and encouraging conversation, which is often the key to unlocking a child's confidence.
Are the tutors background checked?
Yes, your child's safety is our top priority. We interview every tutor and all tutors must have a valid DBS check before they can teach on our platform. We are very selective, accepting only 1 in 8 tutors who apply.
Is tutoring just for school subjects, or can my child learn other skills?
It's for both! While many parents come to us for help with GCSEs and A-Levels, our tutors also teach practical skills like coding, playing the guitar, or even public speaking. It's a great way for your child to explore a new hobby or develop a new talent.
How long are the lessons and how often should my child have them?
Lessons are typically an hour long. Most parents find that a regular weekly session works best for consistent progress, but the frequency is completely up to you. You can discuss what's best for your child's goals directly with your chosen tutor.
What qualifications do your Languages tutors have?
Our tutors come from a wide range of backgrounds. Many are qualified teachers, university lecturers, or graduates with degrees in the language they teach. You can see all their qualifications and experience clearly listed on their individual profiles.
How can a tutor help my child build confidence in speaking a new language?
Yes. The best way to track progress is by speaking with the tutor. They will be happy to give you regular feedback on how your child is doing, what they've been working on, and the plan for future lessons. It's a partnership between you, your child, and the tutor.
