Creative Physiology tutor
Hi! I am a full-time tutor with a background in Biochemistry, Genetics and Biomedical Science. My journey into a career in STEM was definitely difficult and unorthodox, and because of this I am a keen advocate for removing barriers to entry to the Sciences for women and BAME.I have been working in education since 2019, and started in schools, tutoring in small group sessions and 1:1 classes in Science and Maths, at GCSE and A-level. Like many during the pandemic, I switched to online teaching in 2020 and have been doing so ever since!I specialise in teaching those with Special Educational Needs...

Nadia K
Inspiring Physiology tutor
I have been teaching GCSE Scienceand A-level Biology and Chemistry for many years and a big majority of my students went to universities with very good grades. My aim is to help students to learn how to work independently and efficiently with science subjects in order to achieve the best exam results. I consider myself as a very patient and tolerant person and try different teaching styles for different students. I have a degree in Biochemistry, which gives me the opportunity to teach both A-levels: Biology and Chemistry. I have graduated from the Greenwich University in 2008 where I received...

Ben W
I asked Ben for some help with the physiology work I have been given as part of my physiotherapy degree (muscle structure / function etc.). I'm a bit of a nightmare student as have real trouble concentrating and a kinesthetic learning style (not ideal for online tutoring or this topic) but I let Ben know about this in advance and he spent a lot of time preparing materials to use in class and took everything I said onboard to tailor the lesson and make it as efficient as possible.

Marjan K
Marjan has the absolute patience of a saint. She makes learning about the subject easy and refreshing. If the teachers in schools and university were more like her. We wouldn't need tutors.

Charlie H
Charlie was amazing with my 2 secondary school boys. He was kind and considerate and really tailored the 3.5 hour session to suit their level of understanding. It was clear how much preparation work he had put in. My sons responded well and were very inspired, because Charlie could speak on their level. I am absolutely delighted and couldn’t recommend Charlie highly enough. We have already agreed on another exciting day full of science soon!

Brilliant Physiology tutors who you’ll really click with.
Our experienced tutors take the time to understand where each student needs to focus and their preferred way of learning. They make a measurable difference – 90% of all students improve by at least one grade.
Can a tutor help my child with their application for competitive courses at universities like UCL or Imperial?
Absolutely. Many of our A-Level Physiology tutors have experience helping students prepare for university applications. They can help your child master the curriculum to achieve the high grades needed and deepen their understanding of topics that will strengthen their personal statement and interview performance.
My child attends a competitive London school. How can a tutor provide an extra edge?
In a competitive environment, one-to-one attention can be the key differentiator. A private tutor can focus entirely on your child's specific needs, reinforcing classroom learning, and challenging them on complex topics that their peers might miss. This targeted support helps build the confidence and deep knowledge needed to stand out.
How do I choose the right Physiology tutor for my child?
It's simple to find a great match. You can watch introductory videos, read reviews from other parents, and check each tutor's qualifications and experience. We recommend messaging a few tutors to discuss your child's goals before booking to ensure you find the perfect fit for their personality and learning style.
How much does online Physiology tutoring cost in London?
Prices vary depending on the tutor's experience and qualifications, but you can expect to pay between £25 and £60 per hour. Our tutors set their own rates, so you can easily find an expert who fits your budget. There are no hidden fees or contracts.
What if my child doesn't click with their first tutor?
We know how important the right fit is. That's why we have our First Lesson Guarantee. If you don't get on with your tutor, email our support team at support@tutorful.co.uk and we will cover your first session with a new tutor.
How does online tutoring actually work?
It's just like learning in person, but more convenient. All lessons take place in our purpose-built online classroom, which features a video chat, an interactive whiteboard, and the ability to share documents. It's a secure and effective way for your child to learn from home.
Are the tutors qualified to teach A-Level Physiology?
Yes. We take safety and quality very seriously. All our tutors are background-checked, and we verify their ID and qualifications. We only accept 1 in 8 tutors who apply, so you can be sure your child is learning from the best.
How can a tutor help my child build confidence?
Confidence often comes from understanding. In a one-to-one setting, your child has a safe space to ask questions they might be hesitant to ask in class. By working at their own pace and celebrating small wins, a tutor helps them master the subject, which naturally builds their self-belief.
Is tutoring only for A-Levels, or can you help with other skills?
While we offer fantastic support for academic subjects from the 11+ to degree level, we also have tutors for a huge range of other skills. Whether your child wants to learn to play the guitar, get started with coding, or even learn a new language, we have an expert tutor to help.
How long is a typical tutoring session?
Most sessions last for one hour, as this is usually the perfect amount of time to cover a topic in depth without losing focus. However, you can arrange longer or shorter sessions by discussing it directly with your chosen tutor.
Can we get help with specific topics my child finds difficult?
Of course. That's one of the main benefits of one-to-one tutoring. If your child is finding a particular area of Physiology tricky, like the sliding filament theory, their tutor can dedicate entire sessions to that topic until your child feels completely confident with it.
