Not only am I a supportive and encouraging teacher, with many years of experience as a qualified teacher but I also work for the Department for Education as an Education Consultant which means that my lessons are highly effective. Bonjour!:)I am a native French speaker and a fully qualified teacher with 26 years experience of teaching in schools and privately. I am also a GCSE examiner each year and I used to be a AS level examiner for AQA too. I teach the right accent: this is part of how you can become a confident speaker and an efficient listener.I also explain how verbs and grammar work and help you practice with relevant, interesting resources. It's easier to learn if you understand the rules and the tricks. You then become more confident and try more and memorize better.I use various teaching methods according to each...

Experienced & Qualified Primary School Languages Teacher (11+ & SATs)
Hi there! I'm David - a fully qualified primary school teacher with over 10 years teaching experience. I've taught children with SEN, EAL, behavioural problems and gifted children, across all primary stages. In the past 2 years, I have been tutoring online. Most of my teaching has been in Year 6, specialising in getting children ready for the 11+ exams (English, Maths, Verbal & Non Verbal) and SATs papers (Reading, SPaG & Maths). I know how tricky and confusing it can be for children - and parents - in the lead up to these tests. Whilst tutoring online, I have been specifically focusing on bridging...

Carmen G
During my lessons with Carmen, she was very patient with me when I made errors and mistakes. She didn't judge or reprimand me at all, and instead made me feel confident and comfortable with speaking Spanish. As I am studying the A-Level Spanish course, she would give me extra material to study which relates to the exam topics, and give me practice in speaking, writing and listening. It was a lovely experience and I hope to book her again.

Carol G
Carol is brilliant! She clearly knows her subject inside out and tailors the lessons and homework excellently, too, often adapting ‘on the go’ -as stuff comes up, that leads to interesting tangents of related learning on the subject. She is really friendly …. and interesting, too, with fascinating life experiences, like living in Ibiza for years with her kids when younger. Highly recommended by me? Yes indeed! Look no further, you’ve found a brilliant tutor who provides incredibly good value one to one teaching!

Juila was great. My son really got a lot out of the classes and had good feedback. We also got a comprehensive report at the end. So we are very happy with the confidence it has given him.

Brilliant Languages tutors who you’ll really click with.
Our experienced tutors take the time to understand where each student needs to focus and their preferred way of learning. They make a measurable difference – 90% of all students improve by at least one grade.
My child attends a competitive grammar school in Southend. Can a tutor help them aim for the top grades?
Absolutely. Many of our tutors are experienced in helping students who are already doing well to secure the very top grades (8s and 9s). They can focus on advanced exam techniques, nuanced vocabulary, and the finer points of grammar that are needed to stand out in a competitive environment like Southend's.
We're worried about UCAS applications for Russell Group universities. How can a Languages tutor help?
A top grade in a language can significantly strengthen a UCAS application. A tutor can help your child secure that grade, and also help them articulate their passion for the subject in their personal statement, demonstrating the analytical and communication skills that top universities look for.
How do I choose the right Languages tutor for my child?
It's easy to find a great match. You can filter tutors by their experience, subject specialism, and price. We recommend watching their short introduction videos and reading reviews from other parents to get a real sense of their teaching style and personality.
How can a tutor help my child with their confidence in speaking a new language?
Speaking is often the biggest hurdle. The one-to-one online environment is a safe, supportive space for your child to practise speaking without the fear of making mistakes in front of a class. This regular practice with a native or fluent speaker can make a huge difference to their confidence and fluency.
How much do online Languages tutors cost?
Our tutors set their own hourly rates, which are displayed clearly on their profiles. Prices vary based on experience and qualifications, so you can easily find a highly-rated, experienced tutor who fits your budget.
How does online tutoring actually work?
It's simple! All lessons take place in our purpose-built online classroom. It has video chat, a shared whiteboard, and the ability to upload documents, making it an interactive and engaging way to learn. All your child needs is a laptop or computer and a stable internet connection.

Are the tutors qualified to teach Languages?
Yes. We take great care in selecting our tutors, accepting only 1 in 8 applicants. They are all background-checked, and you can see their qualifications, experience, and reviews from other parents right on their profile, so you can book with complete confidence.
Do you only offer tutoring for school subjects like French and Spanish?
Not at all. While we help thousands of students with academic subjects, we also have tutors for a huge range of other skills. Whether your child wants to learn to play the guitar, get into coding, or start learning a language just for fun, we have expert tutors who can help.
