Effective and efficient Further Maths tutor
I like to use PowerPoints slide which explain the content simply and concisely while being fun and easy to understand. Within the slides there are also integrated exam questions to test your knowledge as you are being taught to ensure you are learning effectively. A typical lesson is likely to consist of 5-10 mins of active recall of the previous lesson, then 40-50 minutes of explaining content while also practicing a few exam questions and if there is time to answer harder questions worth a lot of marks. Closer to exam season (e.g. close to mocks or a few months before their actual exam) the focus...

Brilliant Further Maths tutors who you’ll really click with.
Our experienced tutors take the time to understand where each student needs to focus and their preferred way of learning. They make a measurable difference – 90% of all students improve by at least one grade.
My child is aiming for a top STEM course at Imperial or UCL. Can a tutor help them achieve the A* in Further Maths they'll need?
Absolutely. Many of our Further Maths tutors are specialists in helping students aim for the highest grades. They can provide targeted support on the most challenging topics, focus on exam technique, and build the confidence your child needs to perform at their best and secure a place at a top-tier university.
With such high academic standards at schools in Wembley, how can a tutor give my child an edge?
A personal tutor provides one-to-one attention that isn't possible in a classroom. They can tailor every single lesson to your child's learning style and pace, giving them the space to ask questions and consolidate their understanding. This focused support helps them master the subject, not just keep up with it.
How do I choose the right Further Maths tutor for my child?
You can browse tutor profiles, read reviews from other parents, and watch their introductory videos to get a feel for their teaching style. We recommend messaging a few tutors to discuss your child's specific needs before booking. The best tutor is one your child feels comfortable and confident with.
How much does online Further Maths tutoring cost?
Prices vary depending on the tutor's experience and qualifications. You can see each tutor's hourly rate on their profile, allowing you to find an expert who fits your budget. There are no hidden fees or contracts.
What if my child doesn't click with their first tutor?
We know that the right fit is crucial for learning. That's why we have our First Lesson Guarantee. If you don't get on with your tutor, email our support team at support@tutorful.co.uk and we will cover your first session with a new tutor.
Are the tutors background-checked?
Yes, your child's safety is our top priority. All our tutors are ID and background-checked. We are also very selective, accepting only 1 in every 8 tutors who apply, so you can be sure your child is in safe, expert hands.
How does the online classroom work?
Our online classroom has everything your child needs for an effective lesson, including a two-way interactive whiteboard, video chat, and file sharing. It’s a simple and engaging way for them to learn from the comfort of home.
How can a tutor help my child with exam technique?
Our tutors can help your child go beyond the syllabus by focusing on crucial exam skills. This includes time management, understanding command words, structuring answers for maximum marks, and working through past papers to build confidence for exam day.
How quickly will we see an improvement?
Every child learns at their own pace, but the one-to-one support of a tutor often leads to a quick boost in confidence. In terms of grades, 90% of our students improve by at least one grade, showing the real impact of personalised learning.
Do you only offer academic subjects, or can my child learn something like coding or a musical instrument?
We offer tutoring in over 300 subjects! While we have experts for core academics like Maths and English, we also have tutors who can teach your child practical skills like coding in Python, playing the guitar, or even learning a new language.
Can we get help with university applications and personal statements?
Yes, many of our A-Level tutors have experience guiding students through the UCAS application process. They can offer valuable feedback on personal statements and help your child prepare for university interviews, especially for competitive courses.
What happens in a typical first lesson?
The first lesson is usually a chance for the tutor to get to know your child. They'll chat about their goals, what they find difficult in Further Maths, and their learning style. This helps the tutor create a tailored plan to help your child succeed.
