Amy W
Amy W is very concise and extremely helpful when getting complicated information wrapped around your head. She is super friendly and easy to talk to, which makes sessions comfortable and stress-free. The only hiccup is the wifi choosing to bug out, now and then. But, otherwise, Amy gives a very excellent tutoring experience.

Brilliant Psychology tutors who you’ll really click with.
Our experienced tutors take the time to understand where each student needs to focus and their preferred way of learning. They make a measurable difference – 90% of all students improve by at least one grade.
My child is aiming for an A* in Psychology for Lancaster University. Can an online tutor provide that specific level of support?
Absolutely. This is exactly where our tutors excel. Many are A-Level examiners or subject specialists who know precisely what's needed to move from an A to an A*. They can focus on advanced evaluation skills, synoptic links, and exam technique required for the very top marks, giving your child the competitive edge they need.
With the high standards at Lancaster's grammar schools, how can a tutor help my child stand out?
We understand the competitive environment in Lancaster. A tutor provides one-to-one attention that isn't possible in a classroom. They can tailor sessions to your child's specific needs, helping them develop a deeper and more nuanced understanding of the subject that will make their exam answers, and university application, truly stand out.
How does online tutoring actually work? Is it effective?
It's very effective and simple! Lessons take place via video call in our online classroom, which features an interactive whiteboard. It offers the same face-to-face interaction as in-person tutoring but with far more flexibility. Your child can learn from home in Lancaster, connecting with the best A-Level Psychology specialists from anywhere in the UK.
What if my child doesn't click with their first tutor?
We know that the right fit is crucial for success. That's why we have our first lesson guarantee. If you don't get on with your first tutor for any reason, just email our support team at support@tutorful.co.uk and we will cover the cost of your first session with a new tutor.
How do you ensure your Psychology tutors are high quality?
Our selection process is incredibly rigorous. We only accept 1 in 8 tutors who apply. Every tutor is background-checked, interviewed, and has their credentials verified to ensure they are not only subject matter experts but also passionate and effective teachers who can inspire students.
My child also needs help with Biology for their university application. Can you help with that too?
Yes, we can. We have expert tutors across more than 300 subjects, from core GCSE and A-Level topics like Biology and Maths to university-level support and even practical skills like learning a musical instrument or coding. You can find specialist support for all your child's needs on our platform.
How long are the tutoring sessions and how often should they be?
Sessions are typically one hour long, but you can arrange longer ones with your tutor if needed. Most students have one session per week, but this is completely flexible. You and your tutor can decide on a frequency that best suits your child's goals and your family's schedule.
Can tutoring help with exam stress and confidence?
Definitely. A huge part of what our tutors do is build confidence. By breaking down difficult topics and practising exam technique in a supportive environment, they help reduce anxiety. Knowing they are fully prepared helps students walk into their exams feeling calm and capable.
How do we find the right Psychology tutor for our child in Lancaster?
Our platform makes it easy. You can search for Psychology tutors, read their profiles, watch their intro videos, and check reviews from other parents. You can filter by experience with specific exam boards to find the perfect match. You can even message tutors beforehand to ensure they're the right fit.
Are there any contracts or long-term commitments?
No, not at all. Tutorful is completely flexible. There are no contracts or minimum number of lessons. You simply pay as you go for the lessons you book, giving you full control and peace of mind.
My child is finding the research methods part of A-Level Psychology particularly tricky. Can a tutor focus on that?
Yes, that's the beauty of one-to-one tutoring. The lessons are entirely tailored to your child's needs. If they need to spend several sessions just on mastering research methods and statistics, the tutor can create a specific plan to tackle that area until your child feels completely confident.
How long are the tutoring sessions and how often should they be?
It's very straightforward. All your child needs is a laptop or computer with a webcam, a microphone, and a stable internet connection. Our online classroom is browser-based, so there's no complex software to download. It's designed to be simple and intuitive to use.
