Amy W
Amy W is very concise and extremely helpful when getting complicated information wrapped around your head. She is super friendly and easy to talk to, which makes sessions comfortable and stress-free. The only hiccup is the wifi choosing to bug out, now and then. But, otherwise, Amy gives a very excellent tutoring experience.

Brilliant Psychology tutors who you’ll really click with.
Our experienced tutors take the time to understand where each student needs to focus and their preferred way of learning. They make a measurable difference – 90% of all students improve by at least one grade.
With Durham University setting such a high bar, can an online tutor really help my child compete for a top psychology place?
Absolutely. In fact, online tutoring gives your child an advantage. Instead of being limited to tutors nearby, they can connect with specialists from across the UK – including those with direct experience helping students secure places at Russell Group universities. They provide targeted support on everything from mastering difficult concepts to crafting a standout UCAS application.
My child isn't at a school known for its UCAS support. Can tutoring bridge that gap?
Yes, this is exactly where one-to-one tutoring can make a huge difference. Our tutors act as mentors, providing the personalised guidance on personal statements, interview techniques, and subject-specific entrance requirements that can feel out of reach. We help level the playing field, ensuring your child's application truly reflects their ability and passion.
Is online tutoring as effective as in-person for a subject like A-Level Psychology?
Many parents find it’s even more effective. Online sessions use interactive tools like whiteboards to map out complex theories and analyse studies together. Crucially, it gives your child in Durham access to a much wider pool of expert tutors, ensuring you find the perfect match for their learning style and specific needs, not just whoever is local.
What if my child doesn't click with their first Psychology tutor?
We know that the right relationship is key to building confidence. If the first session with a tutor isn't the perfect fit, please email our team at support@tutorful.co.uk. We will cover the cost of your first lesson with a new tutor, no questions asked.
How are your Psychology tutors selected?
We're very selective. Only 1 in 8 applicants make it onto Tutorful. Every tutor is interviewed by a member of our team, has their ID and qualifications checked, and undergoes a background check. We look for brilliant communicators who are experts in their field and passionate about helping students learn.
Can a tutor help with specific parts of the Psychology A-Level, like research methods?
Definitely. Many students find areas like research methods or biopsychology particularly challenging. Our tutors can provide focused sessions on any topic your child is struggling with, breaking down difficult concepts and building their confidence with exam-style questions.
How much do online Psychology lessons for a Durham student cost?
Prices vary depending on the tutor's experience and qualifications. You can see each tutor's hourly rate clearly on their profile. There are no hidden fees or long-term contracts, so you have complete flexibility.
What technology does my child need for their online lessons?
It's very simple. All your child needs is a laptop or computer with a webcam and microphone, and a stable internet connection. Our purpose-built online classroom runs directly in your web browser, so there's no software to download.
How do we schedule sessions around a busy school and family life?
Flexibility is one of the biggest benefits of online tutoring. You can see each tutor's availability on their profile and request slots that fit around your family's commitments, whether that's after school, on weekends, or during the holidays. It's designed to reduce stress, not add to it.
Does Tutorful offer support in subjects that complement Psychology, like Biology or Sociology?
Yes, we do. Many students find it helpful to get support in related subjects. We have expert online tutors across a huge range of subjects, from Biology and Maths to Sociology and essay writing skills, helping your child build a strong, well-rounded academic profile.
How soon could we see a change in my child's confidence?
Often, the biggest change happens right after the first few sessions. When a student finally feels understood by a tutor who adapts to their way of learning, that 'I can't do this' feeling starts to disappear. This boost in confidence is often the first step towards better grades.
How much do online Psychology lessons for a Durham student cost?
Yes. Our tutors have experience with all the major UK exam boards. When you search, you can filter for tutors who specialise in your child's specific curriculum to ensure every session is perfectly aligned with what they need to know for their exams.
