Zohra M
Enthusiastic Maths Tutor
Hi! I am Zohra and I am currently studying Biochemistry at University. To be completely honest Biology was my least favourite Science out of the three - funnily enough it forms the majority of my degree. It was very challenging in the beginning but I can assure you that it does get easier, only by having patience and consistently putting in hard work!I studied for my A Levels during the pandemic when we had online lessons which was a challenge to get used to but from this experience. I can empathise with the feeling of online studying and working on your own as I have been in your shoes before!...
First lesson went really well and my son enjoyed it. Jessica is very engaging and well prepared. My son is Yr 11 and in the run up to GCSEs and Jessica pitched the lesson really well. Looking forward to the next few

Jack R
We’ve had a fantastic experience with Jack as a maths tutor - so far my daughter had three sessions with him. Jack is an excellent communicator and explains concepts clearly and step-by-step, making even the all topics feel manageable. His lessons are well-structured and thoughtfully tailored to my daughter’s needs (we aim for confidence in class and confident GCSE mark).
Jack is also incredibly friendly and positive, which creates a really encouraging learning environment - one of my key requirements. My daughter genuinely enjoys her lessons with him and is already feeling much more confident in her maths curriculum. Highly recommended!

Brilliant Maths GCSE tutors who you’ll really click with.
Our experienced tutors take the time to understand where each student needs to focus and their preferred way of learning. They make a measurable difference – 90% of all students improve by at least one grade.
My child is hoping to apply to a competitive sixth form in Hertfordshire. Can a tutor help with this?
Yes, absolutely. Many of our tutors have experience helping students secure places at top colleges. They can focus on the specific Maths GCSE topics and exam techniques needed to achieve the higher grades, like a 6 or 7, that these institutions often look for, giving your child the best possible chance.
We live in Cheshunt. Does my child's tutor need to be local too?
Not at all! Because all our tutoring is online, you can choose the very best Maths GCSE tutor from anywhere in the UK. This gives you access to a much wider range of specialists, from experienced teachers to examiners, ensuring you find the perfect match for your child's needs without being limited by location.
What if we don't click with the first tutor we try?
We want to make sure you find the perfect fit, which is why we have our First Lesson Guarantee. If for any reason you don't get on with your first tutor, just email our friendly support team at support@tutorful.co.uk and we will cover the cost of your first session with a new tutor.
Do you only offer tutoring for core school subjects like Maths?
While we have fantastic tutors for academic subjects from 11+ to degree level, we also help people of all ages learn new skills and hobbies. So whether your child wants to learn guitar, get ahead with coding in Python, or you want to learn a new language yourself, we have a tutor for that!
How do I choose the right Maths GCSE tutor for my child?
You can watch introductory videos, read reviews from other parents like you, and message tutors for free before booking. Look for someone whose teaching style seems like a good fit for your child's personality and who has strong experience with the GCSE curriculum.
My child has lost all their confidence in maths. Can a tutor help?
Absolutely. This is one of the most common reasons parents come to us. A one-to-one tutor provides a patient, encouraging environment where your child can work at their own pace without fear of judgement. Rebuilding that confidence is often the first and most important step to improving their grades.
How can I be sure the tutors are safe and qualified?
Your child's safety is our top priority. We personally vet every single tutor, and only 1 in 8 applicants make it onto our platform. This includes an interview and a mandatory background check, so you can have complete peace of mind.
How much does a Maths GCSE tutor cost?
Prices vary depending on the tutor's experience, but you can expect to pay between £25 and £45 per hour. Tutors set their own rates, and you can easily filter by price to find someone who fits your budget.
How does online tutoring actually work?
It's simple! Lessons take place in our purpose-built online classroom. It has an interactive whiteboard, video chat, and file sharing, so your child and their tutor can work through problems together just as they would in person. All they need is a laptop or computer and an internet connection.
How many lessons will my child need?
There's no one-size-fits-all answer. Some students just need a few sessions to prepare for an exam, while others benefit from weekly lessons over a longer period. You can discuss your child's goals with your tutor, and they can recommend a plan that works for you.
Can a tutor help my child improve their grade by a significant amount?
Yes, they can. Our data shows that we can help students improve their GCSE results by up to two grades. The focused, one-to-one attention allows tutors to target specific weak spots, which can lead to rapid progress.
How do I pay for lessons?
Paying is easy and secure. Once a lesson is complete, your payment is processed automatically through the platform using your saved card details. You don't need to worry about handling cash or making bank transfers.
