Parissa is a great teacher. She has years of experience with pupils at all levels and so is flexible enough to be able to deal with an adult learner who is familiar with other languages, has done some Persian before and now needs bespoke help to make progress. She puts grammatical discipline at the centre of what we do in reading and this suits me down to the ground. She can parse any sentence in the most minuscule and exhaustive detail and this is a key to unlocking nuances of meaning. She is also a veritable mine of information on the underlying senses of words and how they fit into an Iranian cultural and historical background which is likely to be unfamiliar to most learners in the west. Her fluency in French is an added boon since I chiefly use a Persian-French dictionary and we can discuss features of Persian grammar and idiom in French in a way that can be more illuminating than using English since French and Persian are more inflected than English. Unhesitatingly to be recommended.

Ian always goes out of his way to prepare for every lesson with my daughter. My daughter is disorganised and doesn't prepare very well for every class but Ian is patient and always good humoured enabling Alice to settle, relax and then work hard under his constantly and calmly bringing her back to the task in hand. He is full of praise when it's due and swaps jokes with her to liven up the more dull grammar moments. Ian has adapted well to new impositions that the lockdown has imposed on him and Alice. He is giving Alice extra lessons and is helping her keep up with school work set and typing up her answers in his own time. Alice has a teaching assistant/ scribe at school and between Ian's typing and Alice recording some answers on a phone, she's managing to send some good work back to school so that her teachers know that she is keeping up. Alice and I would like to give Ian a big thumbs up just as he does the same to Alice when she does good work!! Thank you , Ian

Cinzia is an excellent Italian tutor! Her lessons are engaging, varied and highly enjoyable. Every lesson is tailored to my specific objectives, learning needs and interests, so the lessons all feel so relevant and useful. She always asks me if there are specific areas I would like to cover, identifies areas I need to focus on and has great continuity between each lesson. Cinzia uses lots of creative ways (music, media etc) to make each lesson different and the content memorable- perfect for learning languages. I would highly recommend her as a language tutor!
