I have been tutoring Languages for the last 25 years.
I have in particular come to understand the value of sharing learning objectives and success criteria with children. Knowing exactly what is expected and how they can achieve allows children to focus more clearly on tasks.Progression needs to be planned for, so that as children work and explore at their own pace, there is always something else ready to move them on and take them further in their learning. I also believe that differentiation and meeting varied learning styles are key to effective teaching and learning. Work should be set at an appropriate, but challenging, level. When I prepare...

Carmen G
During my lessons with Carmen, she was very patient with me when I made errors and mistakes. She didn't judge or reprimand me at all, and instead made me feel confident and comfortable with speaking Spanish. As I am studying the A-Level Spanish course, she would give me extra material to study which relates to the exam topics, and give me practice in speaking, writing and listening. It was a lovely experience and I hope to book her again.

Carol G
Carol is brilliant! She clearly knows her subject inside out and tailors the lessons and homework excellently, too, often adapting ‘on the go’ -as stuff comes up, that leads to interesting tangents of related learning on the subject. She is really friendly …. and interesting, too, with fascinating life experiences, like living in Ibiza for years with her kids when younger. Highly recommended by me? Yes indeed! Look no further, you’ve found a brilliant tutor who provides incredibly good value one to one teaching!

Brilliant Languages tutors who you’ll really click with.
Our experienced tutors take the time to understand where each student needs to focus and their preferred way of learning. They make a measurable difference – 90% of all students improve by at least one grade.
My child wants to apply to a competitive sixth form in Lincoln. Can a tutor help?
Yes, absolutely. Our tutors can help your child build the subject knowledge and confidence needed to stand out. They can work on specific areas of the curriculum to strengthen their academic profile, giving them the best possible chance of securing a place at their chosen sixth form.
We're worried our child will be at a disadvantage when applying to Russell Group universities. How can a tutor help?
This is a common concern, and a tutor can make a real difference. By providing focused, one-to-one support, a tutor can help your child master their language subject, improve their predicted grades, and develop the deeper understanding that top universities look for. This can help level the playing field and strengthen their UCAS application.
How do I choose the right languages tutor for my child?
It's simple to find the perfect match. You can use our search filters to find tutors with experience in the specific area your child needs help with, whether it's GCSE Spanish or A-Level French. You can also read reviews from other parents and message tutors for free to make sure they're the right fit before booking.
How much does a languages tutor in Lincoln cost?
Prices vary depending on the tutor's experience and the level of study. Tutors set their own rates, which are clearly displayed on their profiles. This transparency means you can find an experienced, high-quality tutor that fits your family's budget.
What if my child doesn't click with their first tutor?
We know how important the right student-tutor relationship is. That's why we have our first lesson guarantee. If you don't get on with your tutor, email our support team at support@tutorful.co.uk and we will cover your first session with a new tutor.
How do online lessons work?
Our online classroom has everything your child needs for a great lesson, including a video chat, an interactive whiteboard, and the ability to share documents. It's a simple, secure, and effective way for your child to learn from home.
Are the tutors background-checked?
Yes, your child's safety is our top priority. We interview every tutor and carry out background checks before they can join the platform. We're very selective and only accept 1 in 8 applicants, so you can have complete peace of mind.
Can a tutor help my child if they've lost their confidence in languages?
Definitely. One of the biggest benefits of one-to-one tutoring is seeing a child's confidence grow. Our tutors create a friendly, patient, and encouraging environment where your child can ask questions without feeling embarrassed, helping them to rebuild their self-belief.
What results can we expect?
While every child's journey is different, our goal is to help them make real progress. In fact, 90% of our students improve by at least one grade. With over 4,100 reviews and a 4.6-star rating, you can feel confident you're making a great choice for your child.
How often should my child have a lesson?
Most families find that one lesson a week is a great starting point for consistent progress. However, the schedule is completely flexible. You can arrange lessons with your tutor as often as you feel your child needs them, whether that's for a regular boost or for extra help before an exam.
How quickly can we find a tutor and start lessons?
You can find and book a tutor very quickly, often in just a few minutes. Many of our tutors can offer lessons within a couple of days, so your child can get the support they need without any delay.
Are the tutors background-checked?
While we offer fantastic support for academic subjects like languages, we also have tutors for a huge range of other skills. Whether your child wants to learn to play the guitar, get into coding with Python, or even learn a new craft, you can find an expert tutor to help them explore their interests.
