I'll be honest, I was sceptical about online lessons for an autistic child. My son had never touched a piano before. He was only ever great at piano games on a screen, so signing him up felt like a bit of a gamble. Will proved me wrong within minutes. I would give six stars if I could!
Will is extraordinarily sensitive and tuned straight into my son's frequency, which very few people manage.
He reads my son's cues instantly, communicates with him in a way that actually lands, and knows exactly when to make him laugh and exactly when to offer a bit of praise. He is warm, consistent, endlessly patient, and, importantly, he is demanding too. He never lowers the bar for my son. He simply finds the way over it with him.
Four months on, my son is playing with both hands, we bought a proper piano, we count down the days to his lessons a week, and has declared Will a superhero.
