Enthusiastic (and patient) tutor of Languages Tutor for all levels
Hi I have always loved French and have a natural flair and feel for it, so, naturally, I went on to study it atUniversity. My family and I have now returned to the UKafter more than 12 years of living and working in Paris. In fact, both my children were born in Paris. Carmen G
During my lessons with Carmen, she was very patient with me when I made errors and mistakes. She didn't judge or reprimand me at all, and instead made me feel confident and comfortable with speaking Spanish. As I am studying the A-Level Spanish course, she would give me extra material to study which relates to the exam topics, and give me practice in speaking, writing and listening. It was a lovely experience and I hope to book her again.

Carol G
Carol is brilliant! She clearly knows her subject inside out and tailors the lessons and homework excellently, too, often adapting ‘on the go’ -as stuff comes up, that leads to interesting tangents of related learning on the subject. She is really friendly …. and interesting, too, with fascinating life experiences, like living in Ibiza for years with her kids when younger. Highly recommended by me? Yes indeed! Look no further, you’ve found a brilliant tutor who provides incredibly good value one to one teaching!

Brilliant Languages tutors who you’ll really click with.
Our experienced tutors take the time to understand where each student needs to focus and their preferred way of learning. They make a measurable difference – 90% of all students improve by at least one grade.
My child is at Vandyke/Cedars and worried about the step up to A-Level Languages. Can a tutor help?
Absolutely. This is a very common concern for parents, and it's one of our tutors' specialities. They can work with your child to strengthen their core GCSE knowledge and specifically build the analytical and conversational skills needed to confidently make the leap to A-Level study.
We're in Leighton Buzzard and aware of the competitive Buckinghamshire schools. Can a tutor help my child's language skills stand out?
Yes, they can. A private tutor provides focused, one-to-one attention that helps a child go beyond the curriculum. They can help your child develop a deeper fluency and confidence that makes them a stronger candidate for competitive school places, university courses, and future opportunities.
How do I choose the right Languages tutor for my child?
It's simple to find a great match on our platform. You can read detailed tutor profiles, check their experience with specific exam boards, and watch introductory videos to get a feel for their personality. You can also message tutors for free before booking to ensure they're the right fit for your child's needs.
What if my child doesn't click with their first Languages tutor?
We know that the right relationship is key to learning. That's why we have our First Lesson Guarantee. If you don't get on with your tutor for any reason, email our support team at support@tutorful.co.uk and we will cover your first session with a new tutor.
How much does an online Languages tutor cost?
Our tutors set their own rates, typically starting from around £20 per hour. Prices vary based on the tutor's experience and the level of study. You can easily filter by price on our website to find an expert tutor who fits your family's budget.
Are your tutors qualified to teach Languages?
Yes. We take pride in selecting the best tutors from across the UK. Many are qualified teachers, examiners, or university-level experts in their language. We interview every applicant and only 1 in 8 make it onto our platform, so you can be confident your child is in safe, expert hands.
How can a tutor help my child build confidence in speaking a new language?
The one-to-one online environment is a safe space for your child to practise speaking without the fear of making mistakes in front of a class. Tutors use encouraging and patient methods to build confidence, correct pronunciation, and improve fluency, which is often the biggest hurdle for students.
How does online tutoring actually work?
It's very straightforward. All lessons take place in our purpose-built online classroom, which features a video chat, an interactive whiteboard, and the ability to share documents. All your child needs is a laptop or computer with a webcam and a stable internet connection.
Is this just for school subjects, or can my child learn other skills?
While we help thousands of students with academic subjects like French, Spanish, and German, we also have tutors for a huge range of other skills and hobbies. Whether your child wants to learn Japanese for fun, try their hand at coding, or learn to play the guitar, we can help.
How often should my child have a lesson?
Most families find that one hour-long session per week is ideal for making consistent progress. However, the schedule is completely flexible. You might want to arrange more frequent sessions in the run-up to an exam. You can discuss the best approach with your chosen tutor.
Can I track my child's progress?
Yes. Our tutors provide feedback after each session, so you can stay informed about what your child is learning and how they are progressing. You can also message your tutor at any time to discuss their development and goals.
How can a tutor help my child build confidence in speaking a new language?
We understand that life can be unpredictable. Our cancellation policy allows you to cancel or reschedule a lesson for free, as long as you give your tutor at least 12 hours' notice. You can manage all your bookings easily through your Tutorful account.
