My family and I have now returned to the UKafter more than 12 years of living and working in Paris. In fact, both my children were born in Paris. Carmen G
During my lessons with Carmen, she was very patient with me when I made errors and mistakes. She didn't judge or reprimand me at all, and instead made me feel confident and comfortable with speaking Spanish. As I am studying the A-Level Spanish course, she would give me extra material to study which relates to the exam topics, and give me practice in speaking, writing and listening. It was a lovely experience and I hope to book her again.

Carol G
Carol is brilliant! She clearly knows her subject inside out and tailors the lessons and homework excellently, too, often adapting ‘on the go’ -as stuff comes up, that leads to interesting tangents of related learning on the subject. She is really friendly …. and interesting, too, with fascinating life experiences, like living in Ibiza for years with her kids when younger. Highly recommended by me? Yes indeed! Look no further, you’ve found a brilliant tutor who provides incredibly good value one to one teaching!

Brilliant Languages tutors who you’ll really click with.

My child is aiming for a top grade in Languages to apply to the University of Bristol. Can a tutor help?
Absolutely. Many of our tutors are experienced in helping students prepare for university applications. They can focus on the specific skills needed to achieve the A-Level grades required for competitive courses at institutions like the University of Bristol, building both subject knowledge and exam technique.
The schools in Bristol like Redland Green feel very competitive. How can a tutor help my child keep up?
We understand that pressure. A tutor provides a safe, one-to-one space where your child can ask questions they might not feel comfortable asking in a large class. They can work at your child's pace, plugging any gaps in their understanding and building the confidence they need to excel in a competitive school environment.
How do I choose the right Languages tutor for my child?
You can watch tutors' introductory videos, read reviews from other parents, and check their qualifications right on their profile. You can also message them before booking to make sure they're a great fit for your child's personality and learning goals.
What happens if we don't click with the first tutor?
It's really important that your child feels comfortable with their tutor. That's why we have our First Lesson Guarantee. If it's not the right fit for any reason, just email our support team at support@tutorful.co.uk and we will cover your first session with a new tutor.
How do online lessons work?
Our online classroom has everything your child needs for a great lesson, including video chat, a shared whiteboard, and a space to upload documents. It's a simple and effective way for your child to learn from the comfort of your home.
How can a tutor help my child's confidence in speaking a new language?
One-to-one lessons are the perfect, low-pressure environment for your child to practise speaking. They can build their confidence by having real conversations with a native or fluent speaker, without the fear of making mistakes in front of a whole class.
How much does an online Languages tutor cost?
Prices vary depending on the tutor's experience and qualifications. You can see each tutor's hourly rate clearly on their profile, so you can easily find someone who fits your budget. There are no hidden fees or contracts.
Are all the tutors background-checked?
Yes, your child's safety is our top priority. Every tutor on our platform has passed a background check. We also interview every applicant and only accept 1 in 8, so you can be sure your child is in safe, expert hands.
Is this just for school subjects, or can my child learn other skills?
We offer tutoring for a huge range of subjects and skills beyond the school curriculum! From learning a new language for a hobby, like Japanese or Italian, to picking up coding, music theory, or even guitar, we have expert tutors who can help your child explore their passions.
How often should my child have a lesson?
This is completely up to you and your child. Most families find that a regular weekly lesson works best to build momentum and see steady progress, but you can schedule lessons as often as you need.
Can we find a tutor who specialises in a specific exam board, like AQA or Edexcel?
Yes. Many of our tutors list their experience with specific exam boards on their profiles. You can use our search filters to find tutors who are experts in the exact curriculum your child is studying for their GCSEs or A-Levels.
How much does an online Languages tutor cost?
You'll see it in their confidence and their school results. Tutors also provide regular feedback, and you can message them at any time to discuss your child's progress and goals. It's a real partnership between you, your child, and the tutor.
