I've had 11 lessons with Jonny and in those, he's been nothing short of incredible. I've seen my understanding of German and my vocabulary increase tenfold during that time. Each lesson is kept fun, interesting and exciting with a good blend of theory and practice. Jonny tailors each lesson to your needs and the things you want to work on which was perfect for me. I couldn't recommend lessons with Jonny more!

Tim is certainly one of the most patient, empathetic teachers I have ever had the good fortune to come across – either for my seven year old daughter or myself. His easy, patient rapport with my daughter – and, I suspect, all young people – is extremely reassuring, as she begins this new language with some trepidation and shyness. She actively looks forward to lessons, which always bring with them chances to play, as well as read, listen, speak and guess/deduce in a totally judgement-free environment. Even more surprising, she has started to attempt to practise her new German vocab with me during the week. Tim always has an interesting lesson for us both, assiduously planned in advance, though he also ‘checks in’ each time to make sure we are engaged with what he has prepared and enjoying it. Another impressive element is to see him pitch his lessons so differently in my and my daughter’s respective lessons, according to our different needs. I was somewhat apprehensive at the idea of a 7 year old starting a new language from scratch over video link, not having met Tim in person, but his warmth is so reassuring and we have navigated any technical challenges together! A teacher myself, I have some experience with pedagogy and can say that Tim is a natural: thoroughly organised, supportive and encouraging. We feel so lucky to have met him!

Sofia has been an amazing tutor: I am an adult beginner in German, having never learnt a foreign language before. She structures the lesson according my need and progress, always slightly pushing so I keep on my toes, and is exceptionally thoughtful in her preparation. I tried evening classes in German last year, but found the grammar too difficult to keep up with in a group situation. Sofia breaks down the grammar in a way that I can really understand, and taps into my 'visual' way of learning. She sets homework, partly because I want homework to help me progress, and we use that as an effective learning tool at the beginning of each lesson. Sofia is confident, extremely pleasant, punctual, and has gone out of her way to be accommodating and helpful. She is a real star.

It was a pleasure to have Emily as my German teacher. She selected reading material that was appropriate to my level and made sure to explain things I did not understand. I had a lot of fun and learned a lot!

Very good tutor who is very dedicated to her students.My son was able to achieve 56/60 in his German spring assessment writing examination;I would say this largely due to her excellent resources and the fact that she thoroughly checks his writing exercises and offers valuable feedback.She is willing to work outside of the normal tutoring hours in order to ensure success in her students.
