Richard H
Richard has been very helpful in the lead up to my A-Level Geography mocks - in 3 sessions we went over potential exam questions for the whole of the physical paper and the way he explains what the question is asking and the concepts within the specification is really useful! The way he teaches makes him easy to understand and to remember what he has said even after leaving the session! I would recommend him to anyone at any level of Geography as he is so clear and encouraging.

Brilliant Geography tutors who you’ll really click with.
Our experienced tutors take the time to understand where each student needs to focus and their preferred way of learning. They make a measurable difference – 90% of all students improve by at least one grade.
My child hopes to apply to a competitive sixth form like The Latymer School. Can a tutor help with this?
Absolutely. Our tutors are experienced in helping students secure the high GCSE grades needed for sought-after sixth forms. They can focus on exam technique, strengthening weaker topic areas, and building the confidence required to perform well under pressure, giving your child the best possible chance of meeting the entry requirements.
We're aiming for a top London university like LSE. How can Geography tutoring help with that long-term goal?
That's a fantastic aspiration. A brilliant A-Level in a subject like Geography is key. Our tutors can help build the analytical and critical thinking skills that top universities look for right from GCSE level. They help students learn how to think like a geographer, constructing arguments and evaluating evidence in a way that prepares them for undergraduate study.
Is online tutoring as effective as having a tutor visit our home in Edmonton?
Yes, and many families find it even better. Online tutoring gives your child access to a wider range of specialist tutors from across the UK, not just whoever is local. With interactive whiteboards, screen sharing, and recorded sessions, it's a dynamic learning environment. Plus, it's convenient, flexible, and saves you time on travel.
Can a tutor incorporate local Edmonton or North London examples into their Geography lessons?
Definitely. Using local case studies is a brilliant way to make geography tangible. A tutor could explore topics like the urban regeneration of the Lea Valley, transport management in North London, or issues relating to the green belt. Just mention this to your chosen tutor – they're great at tailoring lessons.
What happens if my child doesn't click with their first tutor?
Finding the right personality match is crucial, and we want you to be completely happy. If the first lesson isn't a perfect fit, just email our support team at support@tutorful.co.uk and we will cover the cost of your first session with a new tutor. It's our 'first lesson guarantee'.
How are your Geography tutors vetted?
We have a rigorous selection process. Every tutor is interviewed, background-checked, and has their qualifications verified. We only accept 1 in 8 applicants, so you can be sure you're choosing from a pool of highly qualified and experienced educators who are passionate about their subject.
Can we get help with specific parts of the Geography curriculum, like the fieldwork project?
Yes. Our tutors can provide targeted support for any area of the curriculum your child finds challenging, whether it's the NEA (non-examined assessment)/fieldwork component, specific case studies, or tricky exam question types. Lessons are completely tailored to your child's needs.
What technology do we need for an online tutoring session?
It's very simple. All you need is a laptop or computer with a webcam, a microphone, and a stable internet connection. Our online classroom runs in your web browser, so there's no complicated software to install.
How much does online Geography tutoring cost for a student in Edmonton?
Our tutors set their own hourly rates, typically starting from around £25 per hour. Prices vary based on the tutor's experience and level of study. You can browse profiles and filter by price to find the perfect tutor who fits your budget.
How do I know if my child is making progress?
Tutors provide regular feedback on your child's progress, highlighting areas of improvement and next steps. You'll also see it in your child's growing confidence, their approach to homework, and ultimately, in their school reports and exam results. Many parents tell us the first sign is their child simply stops dreading the subject!
My child also needs help with History. Do you offer tutors for other subjects?
We do! We have expert tutors across more than 300 subjects, from core academic subjects like Maths, English, and Science to languages, music, and even coding. You can find all the support your child needs right here on our platform.
Can we get help with specific parts of the Geography curriculum, like the fieldwork project?
Extremely flexible. That's one of the biggest benefits of online tutoring. You can view each tutor's availability on their profile and book sessions at times that work for you, whether it's after school, on weekends, or during school holidays. It's designed to fit around modern family life.
