Amy is really helpful as I have been struggling with biology. I really engage with her different teaching methods e.g flashcards and applying to real exam techniques. If i don' know something Amy will never hesitate to keep rexplaining in differemt ways with diagrams, words etc. Active recall has really helped me recall information. Amy does different exam boards too so is specific to what you will be questioned on. Overall, definitely reccomend Amy!

Setareh A
Setareh is an excellent tutor, would highly recommend her. I started using her in year 1 of my Biology A level and she has always explained things very clearly. If I didn’t understand something she would go the extra mile to support me. It was very helpful working through exam questions together and this would highlight areas that I maybe needed a bit more support. She’s supportive and friendly, a great tutor that I would highly recommend.

Can an online Biology tutor help my child achieve an A* for competitive university applications?
Absolutely. Our expert A-Level Biology tutors understand the high standards required for competitive degrees at prestigious London universities like UCL or Imperial. They can help your child not only master the curriculum for that A* grade but also develop the critical thinking and application skills valued in university admissions, giving them a real edge in a competitive field like medicine or dentistry.
How can a tutor specifically help my child with the challenging leap from GCSE to A-Level Biology, especially given the standards of local sixth forms?
The jump from GCSE to A-Level Biology can be significant, particularly when aiming for top local sixth forms or university. A tutor provides dedicated support to bridge this gap, breaking down complex topics, strengthening understanding of core principles, and developing the advanced analytical skills needed to excel. This ensures your child feels confident and prepared for the increased demands.
Is tutoring just for academic subjects like Biology, or can my child learn other skills?
While we specialise in academic subjects, Tutorful offers a wide range of subjects beyond the classroom. Your child could learn a new language, pick up a musical instrument, develop coding skills, or explore a new hobby. We believe learning should be engaging and can help with personal development too!
What if my child doesn't get along with their first Biology tutor?
We offer a First Lesson Guarantee. If you don't get on with your tutor, email our support team at support@tutorful.co.uk and we will cover your first session with a new tutor. We want you to find the perfect match for your child's learning style.
How do I choose the right A-Level Biology tutor for my child?
Our platform makes it easy to find the perfect match. You can browse tutor profiles, read about their experience, qualifications, and teaching style, and see reviews from other parents. We encourage you to message a few tutors to discuss your child's specific needs before booking a first lesson to ensure a great fit.
How much does online A-Level Biology tutoring cost?
Tutor rates vary depending on their experience and qualifications, but you'll find a range of prices to suit your budget. You can clearly see each tutor's hourly rate on their profile, so there are no hidden surprises. We believe in transparent pricing to help you make the best choice for your child's education.
How can a Biology tutor help my child build confidence?
Confidence often comes from understanding. A tutor provides a safe, one-to-one environment where your child can ask questions without judgment, tackle challenging concepts at their own pace, and receive positive reinforcement. This personalised attention helps them master topics, leading to a significant boost in their self-belief and willingness to participate in class.
Are your online Biology tutors qualified and safe?
Absolutely. We are very selective, accepting only 1 in 8 tutors who apply, and all our tutors are thoroughly background-checked from across the UK. You can also view their qualifications and experience on their profiles, giving you peace of mind that your child is learning with a trusted expert.
How quickly will I see my child's progress in A-Level Biology?
Progress can vary for every child, but with consistent, tailored support, many parents notice improvements fairly quickly. Our data shows that 90% of students improve by at least one grade, and the personalised approach means your child will be focusing directly on areas that need the most attention, leading to more efficient progress.
What if my child needs help with specific A-Level Biology topics, like genetics or photosynthesis?
That's exactly what one-to-one tutoring is for! Your child's tutor will work with them on any specific areas they find challenging, whether it's unpicking complex genetic crosses, understanding the stages of photosynthesis, or preparing for those tricky exam questions. The lessons are entirely focused on your child's unique learning requirements.
Can a tutor help my child with exam technique for A-Level Biology?
Yes, definitely. Mastering exam technique is crucial for A-Level Biology. Tutors can guide your child through past papers, teach them how to interpret questions effectively, structure their answers for maximum marks, and manage their time under exam conditions. This focus on strategy can be invaluable for achieving that desired A*.
How can a Biology tutor help my child build confidence?
It's very straightforward. Your child connects with their tutor through our interactive online classroom, which features a virtual whiteboard, video, and chat. All they need is a computer or tablet and an internet connection. It’s a safe, convenient, and effective way for your child to learn from home, fitting easily into your family's schedule.
