I am a very patient and encouraging teacher. I focus on the needs of the learner which results in positive progress & improvement in confidence. I have a 'get the basics right first' approach. I have worked with hundreds of SEND students, with Autism, ADHD, selective mutism, Tourettes, anxiety, body dysmorphia and social/emotional issues, to name but a few. We are all different, and we can all celebrate achievement in different ways. The teacher/learner relationship is fundamental for me. It is the trust the learner has in the teacher that results in positive outcomes and noticeable progress. Building...

Jen H
I would like to say a massive thank you to Jen, who has helped me through one of my toughest years at university. I had some obstacles thrown in my way but with the help of Jen and her dedication I was able to pass my final dissertation with flying colours. I honestly can’t thank Jen enough for taking the time to sit and work through my whole dissertation from top to bottom. She was able to plan her lessons around times that suited me, always showing up with new ideas and advice that helped me get to where I am today. Without Jen’s help I honestly believe I would still be in the same place I was over a year ago!! A thank you doesn’t even do the hard work Jen put in as justice!!

Brilliant Essay Writing tutors who you’ll really click with.
Our experienced tutors take the time to understand where each student needs to focus and their preferred way of learning. They make a measurable difference – 90% of all students improve by at least one grade.
The local grammar schools in Rugby are very competitive. Can a tutor help my child develop the essay skills needed for top GCSEs?
Absolutely. Many of our tutors are examiners or have extensive experience helping students secure top grades at GCSE. They can work with your child on the specific analytical and writing techniques needed to meet the high standards of competitive schools and achieve the grades required for sixth form entry.
My child is aiming for A/A* grades at A-Level to apply to the University of Warwick. Can a tutor help with this?
Yes, we have many tutors who specialise in A-Level support and have helped students gain places at top universities, including Warwick. They can focus on developing the sophisticated, nuanced arguments and critical thinking skills that examiners look for in A/A* candidates, giving your child the best possible chance of success.
How do I choose the right essay writing tutor for my child?
It's a really personal choice. We recommend reading tutor profiles, checking their experience, and looking at reviews from other parents. You can message tutors for free to discuss your child's specific needs before booking. Finding someone your child connects with is key to building their confidence.
What if my child doesn't click with their first tutor?
We know that the right fit is crucial for learning. That's why we have our First Lesson Guarantee. If you don't get on with your tutor, email our support team at support@tutorful.co.uk and we will cover your first session with a new tutor.
How does online tutoring actually work?
It's simple! All lessons take place in our purpose-built online classroom. It has video chat, an interactive whiteboard, and a space to share documents. Your child can work through essay plans and practice papers with their tutor in real-time, just as they would in person, but from the comfort of your home.
Are the tutors background-checked?
Yes, your child's safety is our top priority. Every tutor on our platform undergoes a thorough vetting process, including an identity and background check. We are very selective, accepting only 1 in 8 tutors who apply, so you can be sure your child is in safe, expert hands.
How much does an essay writing tutor cost?
Prices vary depending on the tutor's experience and qualifications, but you can set your own budget using the filters on our search page. All pricing is shown clearly on the tutors' profiles, so there are no hidden costs.
How can a tutor help my child feel more confident?
Confidence often comes from understanding. In a one-to-one setting, your child has a safe space to ask questions they might not ask in class. Tutors break down difficult topics into manageable steps, celebrating small wins along the way, which helps your child see that they can succeed.
What subjects does essay writing help with?
Strong essay writing is a vital skill across the curriculum. While it's most obvious in subjects like English, History, and Politics, it's also crucial for Geography, Religious Studies, Psychology, and even for structuring reports in science subjects. It's a skill that benefits almost all of their studies.
How quickly can we find a tutor and get started?
You can get started very quickly. Many tutors respond to messages within a few hours. Once you've found a tutor you like and have agreed on a time, you can book your first session straight away. Many families are able to start lessons within a day or two.
How long is a typical tutoring session?
The most common session length is one hour, as this gives enough time to cover a topic in detail without your child losing focus. However, you can arrange different session lengths with your tutor to suit your child's needs and your family's schedule.
Do you only offer academic subjects, or can my child learn other skills?
We offer tutoring in a huge range of subjects and skills, not just for school. Whether your child wants to learn to play the guitar, get started with coding, improve their public speaking, or learn a new language, you can find an expert tutor to help them pursue their passion.
