Rachel managed to achieve the impossible which was getting our son to like English lessons once again. Rachel boosted our son’s confidence and had belief in him from day one. We hired Rachel only a few weeks before GCSE’s but within these weeks she managed to get our sons grades from a 1 and a 3 in his mocks to a 4 and a 6! We wish we’d found Rachel sooner! I cannot recommend Lucy highly enough. Our son has always been a capable student, but English had become a real challenge for him over the last few years. Despite working with two previous tutors, his grades remained well below what we knew he was capable of, and we simply were not seeing the progress we had hoped for. At the same time, she was always incredibly kind, patient and considerate. Lucy is exceptionally switched-on and purposeful in her teaching — not a minute of a lesson is wasted. Every session had direction, and the progress over the months was significant and clearly measurable. We are not a family who normally writes reviews, but this is one that I felt absolutely had to be written.
