Mamun A
My son is really improving since starting lessons with Mamun. From the start of the lesson getting almost all questions wrong to by the end completely understanding it all. Tested him a few days later and he got almost every question right without any help at all he remembered all the punctuation in all questions, shocked how much he's improved from just one lesson on it! Mamun's teaching is brilliant and it really seems to stick in my sons head. Also my son is very fussy with his ASD/ADHD and is often open about his feelings towards people, especially new people most often than not he will say he doesn't like this person because of this or that, but he said he likes his tutor and wants to do more lessons which is brilliant. Mamun is always on time, very patient and explains thoroughly, he gives brilliant feedback afterwards too. Highly recommend this tutor and I'm glad I chose him rather than someone else.

Brilliant English tutors who you’ll really click with.
Our experienced tutors take the time to understand where each student needs to focus and their preferred way of learning. They make a measurable difference – 90% of all students improve by at least one grade.
My child is preparing for the 11+ for Bournemouth School. Can a tutor help?
Absolutely. Many of our English tutors have specific experience with 11+ preparation, including the verbal and non-verbal reasoning sections. They can help your child build confidence with the exam format, practise key skills, and manage their time effectively, giving them the best possible preparation.
We're aiming for a top local sixth form. How can a tutor help my child get the best GCSE English grades?
Our tutors can provide focused support to help your child move beyond a pass and aim for the highest grades. They can work on detailed text analysis, sophisticated essay writing, and exam technique. We know that top grades can make all the difference, and our tutors can help boost a child's GCSE results by up to two grades.
How do I choose the right English tutor for my child?
It’s all about finding the right fit for your child's personality and learning needs. You can watch introductory videos, read reviews from other parents, and message tutors for free to discuss your child's goals before booking. Finding someone your child connects with is the first step to success.
How much does an online English tutor in Bournemouth cost?
Prices vary depending on the tutor's experience and level of study. Tutors set their own rates, which are clearly displayed on their profiles, so you can find an experienced, affordable tutor that fits your budget.
Are the tutors background-checked?
Yes, your child's safety is our top priority. Every single one of our tutors has been through a background check and has had their ID verified. We are very selective, accepting only 1 in 8 tutors who apply, so you can be sure your child is in safe, expert hands.
How does online tutoring work?
It's simple! All lessons take place in our online classroom, which has video chat, an interactive whiteboard, and a space to share documents. It’s a secure and effective way for your child to learn one-to-one with their tutor from the comfort of home.
What if we don't click with the first tutor?
We want to make sure you find the perfect match. That's why we have our First Lesson Guarantee. If you don't get on with your tutor, email our support team at support@tutorful.co.uk and we will cover your first session with a new tutor.
How can a tutor help my child feel more confident in English?
Confidence is key. A one-to-one tutor creates a safe, encouraging space where your child can ask questions without feeling embarrassed. By breaking down tricky topics and celebrating small wins, tutors help your child see their own progress, which is a huge confidence booster.
How often should my child have a lesson?
Most families find that one session a week works best for consistent progress, especially when preparing for exams like the 11+ or GCSEs. However, it's completely flexible and you can arrange a schedule that works for your child with their tutor.
Is this just for school subjects, or can my child learn other skills?
While we help thousands of students with academic subjects like English, Maths, and Science, we also have amazing tutors for hobbies and life skills. Whether your child wants to learn to play the guitar, speak Spanish, or even get into coding, we have an expert who can help.
What happens in a typical English lesson?
Every lesson is tailored to your child. A tutor might start by reviewing homework, then introduce a new concept like analysing poetry, and work through examples together on the interactive whiteboard. The focus is always on your child's specific needs and learning goals for that session.
How do I know if Tutorful is right for us?
We've helped over 200,000 students find the right support for their learning journey. With a 4.6-star rating from over 4,100 reviews, you can feel reassured that you're joining a trusted community of parents who have seen the positive difference one-to-one tutoring can make.
