Jasmine U
Having learning difficulties, I thought I would feel uncomfortable in the first lesson; however, Jasmine is lovely.
Jasmine gave me detailed feedback on my A Level Business assignment in regards to layout and improvements in my academic writing.
She also gave me examples I could include in my assignment to achieve the highest grade possible on the assignment. Jasmine kindly wrote me a list of things that she discussed in the lesson so that I wouldn't forget, which was helpful.
Additionally, Jasmine asked me if I had any questions I had near the end, so I was reassured or if I had any doubts. She is very friendly, and I was able to communicate with her without feeling shy.
I would highly recommend Jasmine as a tutor.

How does online dyslexia tutoring actually work for my child?
Online tutoring for dyslexia is very effective! Your child connects with their tutor in our interactive online classroom, which includes a virtual whiteboard, document sharing, and video chat. Tutors use specialised tools and techniques to help with reading, writing, spelling, and organisation, making sessions engaging and tailored to your child's pace, all from the comfort of your home.
How do you choose your dyslexia tutors?
We pick the best, background-checked tutors from across the UK. We only accept 1 in 8 tutors who apply, so you can be sure your child is learning from a highly qualified and experienced specialist who understands the nuances of dyslexia support. We look for expertise, experience, and a real passion for helping students.
What qualifications do your dyslexia tutors have?
Our dyslexia tutors typically hold relevant qualifications such as a Level 5 Diploma in Teaching Learners with Dyslexia/Specific Learning Difficulties, or have extensive experience and training in supporting dyslexic students. Many also have teaching qualifications and a strong understanding of the UK curriculum. You can view each tutor's specific qualifications and experience on their profile.
Can an online dyslexia tutor help my child prepare for specific exams like GCSEs or A-Levels?
Absolutely. Dyslexia tutors are experts in helping your child develop strategies to manage exam conditions, improve essay writing, revise effectively, and understand complex subject matter across all academic areas. This support can be crucial for achieving their best in important exams like GCSEs, where 90% of students improve by at least one grade with Tutorful, and for GCSE specific help, we can help improve your child's results by up to 2 grades.
My child is struggling with organisation for schoolwork; can a dyslexia tutor help with that?
Yes, a dyslexia tutor can be incredibly helpful with organisational skills. Many dyslexic learners benefit from structured strategies for planning homework, managing time, and keeping track of assignments. Tutors can teach your child practical techniques to improve their organisation, which in turn boosts their confidence and reduces stress around schoolwork.
How do I choose the best dyslexia tutor for my child?
We make it easy to find the perfect match. You can browse tutor profiles, read reviews from other parents, and even message tutors directly to discuss your child's specific needs before booking. We encourage you to look for tutors whose experience, teaching style, and approach to dyslexia support align best with your child's personality and learning goals.
How much does dyslexia tutoring cost?
Tutor prices vary depending on their experience and qualifications, but you'll find options to suit different budgets. You can see each tutor's hourly rate clearly displayed on their profile. There are no hidden fees, and you only pay for the lessons your child takes.
What if my child doesn't get along with their first dyslexia tutor?
We want your child to have the best possible learning experience. That's why we offer a First Lesson Guarantee. If you don't get on with your tutor, email our support team at support@tutorful.co.uk and we will cover your first session with a new tutor.
How quickly will I see my child's progress with dyslexia tutoring?
Progress can vary for each child, but many parents notice improvements in confidence and engagement quite quickly. Developing reading, writing, and organisational strategies takes time and consistent practice. Our tutors focus on building a strong foundation and celebrating every step of your child's journey, helping them to join the 200,000+ happy students who have used Tutorful.
Is dyslexia tutoring only for academic subjects, or can it help with broader life skills?
While our tutors certainly help with academic subjects, the strategies learned in dyslexia support – like improved organisation, memory techniques, and communication skills – are invaluable life skills. These can help your child in everything from managing daily tasks to pursuing hobbies and future careers, giving them a strong foundation beyond the classroom.
Can dyslexia tutors help with specific learning strategies like phonics or touch-typing?
Yes, absolutely! Many of our specialist dyslexia tutors are skilled in teaching specific, evidence-based learning strategies. This can include explicit phonics instruction, multi-sensory approaches to spelling and reading, memory aids, and even guidance on assistive technologies or touch-typing to support your child's learning journey.
What age range do your dyslexia tutors support?
Our dyslexia tutors are experienced in supporting students across a wide range of ages, from primary school children just starting their learning journey, through to secondary school students preparing for GCSEs and A-Levels, and even adults seeking support. You can filter tutors by the age groups they specialise in to find the perfect fit for your child.
