When I lived in Spain,I studied English privately for 8 years ,however ,when I first arrived to Hastings I couldn't hold a conversation in English for more than 2 minutesso I started going to college in order to be able to express myself. My teachers in Spain had always been Spanish and that didn’t help my accent or my confidence as a native tutor would’ve helped (at least that’s how I felt )
I have been an au pair ,a waitress, a team leader and a support worker....

Nigel Q
My 15-year-old son is working through the GCSE Spanish with Nigel. I am very relieved to have found such a good teacher. He is clear and thorough, and he encourages him throughout the lessons. It is clear that Nigel knows the syllabus well and is an experienced teacher, which in my opinion is very important for the exams. Most importantly, my son enjoys the lessons and thinks Nigel is an excellent teacher.
I also rate this site 5 stars. It is clear and simple to use.

Brilliant Spanish tutors who you’ll really click with.
Our experienced tutors take the time to understand where each student needs to focus and their preferred way of learning. They make a measurable difference – 90% of all students improve by at least one grade.
Can a tutor help my child with the transition from GCSE Spanish to A-Levels at Pembrokeshire College?
Absolutely. Many of our tutors are experienced in helping students make that step up. They can work with your child to bridge any knowledge gaps from their GCSEs and build the advanced skills and confidence needed for A-Level study, ensuring they start their course on the front foot.
My child is hoping to apply to universities like Cardiff or Swansea. Can a tutor help with that?
Yes, a tutor can be a great help. Securing a strong GCSE or A-Level grade in Spanish is a fantastic way to make their university application stand out. A tutor can help them aim for the top grades that competitive universities look for, and some can even offer advice on personal statements if they have relevant experience.
What if we don't click with the first tutor?
We understand that the right personal connection is key to successful learning. That's why we have our First Lesson Guarantee. If for any reason you feel the first tutor isn't the perfect fit for your child, simply email our support team at support@tutorful.co.uk and we will cover your first session with a new tutor.
How do I choose the right Spanish tutor for my child?
You can watch introductory videos, read reviews from other parents, and check each tutor's qualifications and experience on their profile. You can also message tutors before booking to discuss your child's specific needs for the WJEC curriculum to ensure they're a great match.
Can tutoring really help my child's confidence?
Yes, it's one of the biggest benefits we see. In a one-to-one setting, your child has a safe space to ask questions and work through challenges without fear of being wrong. This personalised support helps them understand the subject better, which naturally builds their self-belief.
How much does a Spanish tutor cost?
Prices vary depending on the tutor's experience and qualifications. You can see each tutor's hourly rate clearly on their profile. There are no hidden fees or contracts, so you have complete control over what you spend.
How do the online lessons work?
Lessons take place in our specially designed online classroom. It includes a video chat, an interactive whiteboard, and the ability to share documents. It's a simple and effective way for your child to learn from the comfort of your home.
How do you make sure the tutors are safe?
Your child's safety is our top priority. Every tutor must pass a background check before they can teach on our platform. We also interview tutors and verify their ID and qualifications. We're very selective, accepting only 1 in every 8 tutors who apply.
Do you only offer tutors for school subjects like Spanish?
Not at all! While we have fantastic tutors for academic subjects from the 11+ right through to degree level, we also have experts who can teach practical skills and hobbies. Whether your child wants to learn guitar, coding, or even a new language just for fun, you can find a great tutor for it on Tutorful.
How often should my child have a lesson?
This is completely up to you and your child. Most families find a one-hour session once a week works well, especially in the run-up to exams. You can discuss the best frequency with your chosen tutor based on your child's goals.
Is online tutoring as effective as in-person?
Many parents tell us it's even more effective! The online classroom has powerful interactive tools, and it saves you travel time. With access to the best tutors across the UK, not just locally, you have a much wider choice of specialists to find the perfect fit for your child.
How do the online lessons work?
The first lesson is usually a chance for the tutor to get to know your child. They'll chat about what your child enjoys, where they feel they're struggling with Spanish, and what they want to achieve. It's a great way to build rapport and create a plan for future sessions.
