Incredible! It’s fair to say that science was never one of my sons favourite subjects. My son has only had a few lessons with Rai so far but we are making it regular to support his GCSE exams.
Rai’s sessions are full of energy and my son has so much more confidence and loves the way Rai explains things. He has already learnt so much!
I would absolutely recommend!

Alan H
I wanted to share how much we appreciate the extra GCSE Science lessons Alan has been providing. My son has mentioned that the sessions are giving him a really solid understanding of the sciences, especially chemistry, which is helping him a lot with his revision. The one-on-one format is making a big difference—he finds it much easier to concentrate and is learning far more effectively. He’s even remembering things better, which shows how impactful Alan's teaching has been. Thank you for your dedication and support; it’s clearly making a positive difference.

Brilliant Science tutors who you’ll really click with.
Our experienced tutors take the time to understand where each student needs to focus and their preferred way of learning. They make a measurable difference – 90% of all students improve by at least one grade.
Can a tutor help my child manage the step up to A-Level Science at Freman College?
Absolutely. This is a common reason parents in Buntingford seek support. Our tutors are experienced in helping students bridge the gap from GCSE to A-Levels. They can pre-teach complex topics in Biology, Chemistry, or Physics, build foundational knowledge, and give your child the confidence to start the new term on the front foot.
My child is aiming for a competitive STEM course. Can a tutor provide that level of support?
Yes. Many of our Science tutors are specialists in preparing students for university applications. They can provide advanced subject knowledge, help with personal statement preparation, and offer guidance on the level of understanding required to compete for places on prestigious STEM courses at top universities.
How do I choose the right Science tutor for my child?
It's simple to find the perfect match. You can watch introductory videos, read reviews from other parents, and message tutors for free to discuss your child's specific needs before booking. This helps you find someone with the right experience and teaching style for your child.
How much does online Science tuition cost?
Our tutors set their own hourly rates, which typically start from around £20 per hour. Prices vary based on the tutor's experience and the level of study. You can easily filter tutors by price to find an option that works for your family's budget.
What if we don't click with the first tutor?
We want you and your child to feel completely comfortable. With our first lesson guarantee, if you don't get on with your tutor, email our support team at support@tutorful.co.uk and we will cover your first session with a new tutor.
Are all the tutors background-checked?
Yes, your child's safety is our top priority. All our tutors undergo a thorough vetting process, including identity and background checks. We only accept 1 in every 8 tutors who apply, so you can be sure your child is learning from the best.
How do online lessons work?
Our online classroom has everything your child needs for a great lesson. It includes a video chat, an interactive whiteboard for solving problems together, and a way to share documents. It’s a secure and effective way to learn from the comfort of your home.
Can a tutor help my child if they've lost confidence in Science?
Definitely. One-to-one tuition is fantastic for building confidence. A tutor can go at your child's pace, celebrate small wins, and create a safe space to ask questions without fear of getting it wrong. This patient, personalised approach helps rebuild their self-belief in the subject.
How often should my child have a lesson?
Most families choose to have one lesson per week to provide consistent support, but the frequency is completely up to you. You can arrange lessons flexibly with your tutor to fit around your child's schedule, whether it's for regular help or for a boost before an exam.
Can we find a tutor for a specific science like A-Level Chemistry?
Yes. You can filter your search for tutors who specialise in a particular subject and level, such as A-Level Chemistry, GCSE Biology, or Key Stage 3 Physics. Many of our tutors are subject-matter experts with years of experience.
How quickly can we start lessons?
You can start very quickly. Many of our tutors can offer a lesson within a few days. Simply find a tutor you like, send them a message to arrange a time, and you can get started as soon as you're ready.
Is this just for school subjects, or can my child learn skills like coding or Python?
While we offer brilliant support for all academic subjects, we have fantastic tutors for a huge range of other skills too! You can find expert tutors for coding, learning a musical instrument like the guitar, a new language, and much more.
