Expert Psychology tutor
I have been teaching psychology for over ten years and I genuinely love helping young people unlock their potential. Tutoring gives me the chance to work more closely with students, building their confidence and showing them that with the right strategies, they can achieve more than they thought possible. I didn’t always find school easy myself, so it’s become my mission to help students feel at ease, develop a growth mindset, and recognise their own worth. Seeing students grow in confidence is what drives me.In lessons, I like to keep things structured but relaxed. A typical session might sta...

Amy W
Amy W is very concise and extremely helpful when getting complicated information wrapped around your head. She is super friendly and easy to talk to, which makes sessions comfortable and stress-free. The only hiccup is the wifi choosing to bug out, now and then. But, otherwise, Amy gives a very excellent tutoring experience.

Brilliant Psychology tutors who you’ll really click with.
Our experienced tutors take the time to understand where each student needs to focus and their preferred way of learning. They make a measurable difference – 90% of all students improve by at least one grade.
My child's school is large and I worry they won't get the top A-Level Psychology grades for university. Can a tutor help?
Absolutely. This is a common concern, and where a partnership with a tutor makes a real difference. They can provide the focused attention needed to develop higher-level critical analysis and essay-writing skills, helping your child's application stand out for competitive courses, like the one at the University of Plymouth.
Are your tutors actually in Plymouth?
Our tutors are based across the UK and all lessons take place online. This is a huge advantage for families in Plymouth, as it means your child isn't limited to local availability. You get to choose from the very best Psychology specialists in the country, no matter where they live.
Is online tutoring for Psychology as effective as meeting in person?
Yes, and in many ways, it's better. Our online classroom has an interactive whiteboard perfect for mapping out complex theories, and tutors can easily share and annotate research papers on screen. Plus, the convenience of learning from home in Plymouth means less stress and more energy for learning.
What if my child doesn't click with their first Psychology tutor?
Finding the right personality match is crucial. We want you and your child to feel completely comfortable. If the first lesson isn't a perfect fit, just email our support team at support@tutorful.co.uk and we will cover the cost of your first session with a new tutor.
How do you ensure your Psychology tutors are experts?
We have a rigorous selection process and accept only 1 in 8 tutors who apply. Each tutor is interviewed, has their qualifications verified, and undergoes a background check. Many are experienced teachers or hold advanced degrees in Psychology, so you can be sure of their expertise.
My child has a packed schedule with coursework and other activities. How flexible are lesson times?
That's one of the main benefits of online tutoring. You can schedule sessions at times that suit your family, whether that's evenings, weekends, or during school holidays. You arrange times directly with your tutor, so it fits perfectly into your life in Plymouth.
How much does online Psychology tutoring cost?
Prices vary depending on the tutor's experience and qualifications. Each tutor sets their own hourly rate, which is clearly displayed on their profile. This transparency allows you to find an excellent tutor who also fits your budget.
How will I know if my child is actually making progress?
You'll see it in their growing confidence when they talk about the subject. Tutors provide regular feedback, and you’ll also notice improvements in their homework and test results. The goal is for them to feel capable and prepared, not just for exams, but for their next steps.
My child also needs help with their UCAS personal statement. Can a tutor help with that?
Yes, many of our Psychology tutors have extensive experience helping students with university applications, including crafting compelling personal statements. Beyond that, we have tutors for a huge range of subjects and skills, from Maths and English to learning the guitar.
Can we find a tutor who specialises in a specific area, like research methods?
Definitely. Our tutors' profiles detail their specific areas of expertise. You can easily find a specialist who can provide targeted support for the exact topics your child finds most challenging in their A-Level or GCSE Psychology course.
How quickly can we find a Psychology tutor and get started?
You can start looking straight away. Simply search for Psychology tutors, message a few who seem like a good fit, and you could be having your first online lesson from your home in Plymouth within a couple of days.
