Amy W is very concise and extremely helpful when getting complicated information wrapped around your head. She is super friendly and easy to talk to, which makes sessions comfortable and stress-free. The only hiccup is the wifi choosing to bug out, now and then. But, otherwise, Amy gives a very excellent tutoring experience.

Brilliant Psychology tutors who you’ll really click with.
Our experienced tutors take the time to understand where each student needs to focus and their preferred way of learning. They make a measurable difference – 90% of all students improve by at least one grade.
My child's at a great Newport school, but we're worried about competing for a Psychology place at Bristol or Cardiff. Can a tutor really help?
Absolutely. This is exactly where our tutors excel. They can provide that extra depth and strategic exam coaching that helps a bright student stand out. They'll focus on developing higher-level analytical and evaluation skills that are essential for securing offers from top Russell Group universities.
Do your tutors know the curriculum taught at schools like Caerleon or Bassaleg?
Yes. Our tutors are experts in the main UK exam boards (like AQA, Edexcel, and WJEC/Eduqas which is common in Wales). They will tailor their support to the specific A-Level Psychology syllabus your child is studying at their school in Newport, ensuring every session is perfectly relevant.
Is online tutoring as effective as finding a tutor in Newport to meet in person?
We believe it’s even more effective. Online tutoring gives your child access to a much wider pool of specialist Psychology tutors from across the UK, not just whoever happens to live locally. This means you can find the perfect match for your child's needs and learning style, all from the comfort of home, with no travel needed.
What happens if we try a tutor and it’s not the right fit?
We want your child to love learning with their tutor. If the first session isn't a perfect match, there's no need to worry. Just email our support team at support@tutorful.co.uk and we will cover the cost of your first lesson with a new tutor.
Can a tutor help with my child's UCAS personal statement for Psychology?
Many of our A-Level tutors have extensive experience guiding students through their UCAS applications. They can help your child structure their personal statement, articulate their passion for Psychology, and highlight the skills and experiences that will impress admissions departments.
How do you ensure your Psychology tutors are high quality?
We're very selective. In fact, only 1 in 8 applicants are successful in becoming a Tutorful tutor. Every tutor is interviewed, background-checked, and has proven expertise in their subject, so you can be sure your child is learning from a true professional.
My child struggles most with the research methods and statistics part of Psychology. Can a tutor focus on that?
Of course. That's the beauty of one-to-one tuition. The sessions are entirely built around your child's needs. If they need to spend several lessons mastering statistical tests or research design, their tutor will create a plan to build their skills and confidence in that specific area.
What technology do we need for online lessons?
It's very simple. All you need is a laptop or computer with a webcam, a microphone, and a stable internet connection. Our online classroom has all the tools needed, including an interactive whiteboard, for an engaging and effective lesson.
How much does online Psychology tutoring cost for a student in Newport?
Our tutors set their own hourly rates, which you can see clearly on their profiles. Prices vary based on the tutor's experience and level of demand, so you can find an expert tutor who fits your budget. There are no hidden fees or contracts.
How often should my child have tutoring for their A-Levels?
Most A-Level students find a one-hour session per week is ideal for consistent progress. However, it's completely flexible. You might want to increase the frequency closer to exams or have sessions fortnightly. You can discuss the best approach with your chosen tutor.
We also need help with A-Level Maths for my other child. Do you offer different subjects?
Yes, we offer tutoring in over 300 subjects! From core academic subjects like Maths, English and the Sciences, to languages, humanities, and even practical skills like coding or music. You can find expert online support for your whole family on Tutorful.
My child struggles most with the research methods and statistics part of Psychology. Can a tutor focus on that?
Yes, every session is a private, one-to-one lesson between your child and their tutor. This ensures they get the tutor's full attention and the support is completely personalised to their learning goals.
