Amy W
Amy W is very concise and extremely helpful when getting complicated information wrapped around your head. She is super friendly and easy to talk to, which makes sessions comfortable and stress-free. The only hiccup is the wifi choosing to bug out, now and then. But, otherwise, Amy gives a very excellent tutoring experience.

Brilliant Psychology tutors who you’ll really click with.
Our experienced tutors take the time to understand where each student needs to focus and their preferred way of learning. They make a measurable difference – 90% of all students improve by at least one grade.
My child is at Blackpool Sixth Form. Can a tutor provide the specialist depth needed for a top university application?
Absolutely. This is exactly where one-to-one online tutoring shines. Whilst your child receives a great education at college, a dedicated tutor can focus purely on the higher-level analytical and evaluation skills that competitive universities like Lancaster look for in Psychology applicants. They can go deeper into research methods and critical analysis than is often possible in a busy classroom.
Is online tutoring as effective as finding a tutor in the Lytham area?
We find it's even more effective. Online tutoring gives your child in Lytham Saint Annes access to a much wider pool of expert Psychology tutors from across the UK, including university lecturers and examiners. This means you can find the perfect match for your child's specific needs, rather than being limited to who lives nearby. Plus, the convenience of learning from home saves you both valuable time.
How does online tutoring actually work?
It's simple and effective. All lessons take place via video call in our purpose-built online classroom. It features an interactive whiteboard, document sharing, and other tools that make learning collaborative and engaging. All your child needs is a laptop or tablet, a microphone, and a stable internet connection.
My child is aiming for a competitive university. Can we find a tutor with relevant experience?
Yes. Many of our tutors are graduates from top universities, and some have experience in university admissions. You can view each tutor's full profile, including their educational background and teaching experience, to find someone who understands what's required to build a strong university application.
What happens if my child doesn't click with their first tutor?
We know that the right fit is crucial for building confidence. That's why we have our first lesson guarantee. If for any reason you feel the first tutor isn't the right match, simply email our support team at support@tutorful.co.uk and we will cover the cost of your first session with a new tutor.
How much do online Psychology tutors cost?
Our tutors set their own hourly rates, which you can see clearly on their profiles. Prices typically start from around £20 per hour and vary based on the tutor's experience and level of expertise. There are no hidden fees or long-term contracts.
Can tutoring help with specific parts of the A-Level Psychology course, like research methods?
Definitely. Research methods is a common area where students need extra support. A tutor can work through statistical tests, experimental design, and data analysis at your child's pace until they feel completely confident – something that can make a huge difference to their final grade.
How long are the tutoring sessions and how often should they be?
Most sessions are one hour long, which we find is ideal for maintaining focus. Most families opt for one session a week, but the frequency is completely up to you. You can arrange a schedule that fits perfectly with your child's other commitments.
Are all your tutors background checked?
Yes, every single one. We take safety very seriously. All our tutors undergo a thorough vetting process, including an ID check and a DBS background check, before they can join our platform. We only accept 1 in 8 tutors who apply, so you can be sure you're choosing from the best.
My child needs help with another subject too. Do you offer more than just Psychology?
We do! We offer tutoring in over 300 subjects, from core academic subjects like Maths, English and the Sciences, to languages, music, and even coding. You can find expert support for all your family's learning needs on our platform.
Can my child get help with their UCAS personal statement for Psychology?
Yes, many of our A-Level tutors are experienced in helping students craft compelling personal statements. They can help your child articulate their passion for the subject and highlight relevant skills, which is a fantastic way to make their application stand out.
Can tutoring help with specific parts of the A-Level Psychology course, like research methods?
Of course. You're in complete control of the scheduling. Whether you need regular weekly support or just a few intensive revision sessions before an exam, you can arrange it directly with your chosen tutor.
