Richard H
Richard has been very helpful in the lead up to my A-Level Geography mocks - in 3 sessions we went over potential exam questions for the whole of the physical paper and the way he explains what the question is asking and the concepts within the specification is really useful! The way he teaches makes him easy to understand and to remember what he has said even after leaving the session! I would recommend him to anyone at any level of Geography as he is so clear and encouraging.

Brilliant Geography tutors who you’ll really click with.
Our experienced tutors take the time to understand where each student needs to focus and their preferred way of learning. They make a measurable difference – 90% of all students improve by at least one grade.
My child is aiming for an A* in A-Level Geography to get into Cardiff University. Can an online tutor really help with that specific goal?
Absolutely. That's exactly where our tutors excel. Because we connect you with specialists from all over the UK, you can find someone with specific experience in helping students achieve top grades for entry into Russell Group universities. They can focus on the higher-level analysis and essay-writing skills needed to turn a B into an A or an A into an A*.
Can a tutor help my child connect their studies to Welsh geography, like the regeneration of Cardiff Bay or coastal management in Pembrokeshire?
Yes, many of our tutors are skilled at making learning relevant. They can help your child use local Welsh examples as powerful case studies in their essays and coursework, showing examiners a deeper and more personal understanding of geographical processes. This can make their answers stand out.
Is online tutoring as effective as finding someone in-person in Cardiff?
We believe it’s even more effective. Online tutoring gives your child access to a much wider pool of expert tutors from across the UK, not just those who live locally. This means you can find the perfect specialist for the A-Level curriculum, rather than the most convenient option. Plus, with no travel time and flexible scheduling, it’s far easier to fit into busy family life.
How do you ensure your Geography tutors are high quality?
We're incredibly selective. Every tutor is DBS checked, and we interview every single one. We only accept 1 in 8 tutors who apply to our platform, so you can be sure you're choosing from a pool of highly qualified and experienced educators who are passionate about their subject.
My child struggles with both the data analysis in physical geography and the essays in human geography. Can one tutor help with both?
Yes, definitely. Our Geography tutors are experts across the entire curriculum. They can spend one session demystifying statistical tests and the next helping to structure a compelling essay. The beauty of one-to-one tutoring is that the support is tailored precisely to your child's needs, strengthening whichever areas they find most challenging.
What happens if my child doesn't click with their first Geography tutor?
It's really important that your child feels comfortable and supported, so we have you covered. If the first session isn't the right fit, just email our support team at support@tutorful.co.uk and we will cover the cost of your first lesson with a new tutor.
How much do online Geography tutors for students in Cardiff cost?
Our tutors set their own hourly rates, typically starting from around £20 per hour. Prices vary based on the tutor's experience and the level of study (e.g., A-Level tutoring may differ from GCSE). You can see each tutor's price clearly on their profile, so you can find an expert who fits your budget.
What technology do we need for an online lesson?
It's very simple. All you need is a laptop or computer with a webcam and microphone, and a stable internet connection. Our online classroom has all the tools needed, including an interactive whiteboard, so lessons are engaging and collaborative.
We also need help with Maths. Can we find tutors for other subjects?
Yes! We offer expert tutoring in over 300 subjects, from core academics like Maths, English and Science to languages, music, and even coding. You can find all the support your family needs in one place.
How many sessions will my child need to see an improvement?
This varies from student to student, but consistency is key. Many parents find that weekly sessions build momentum and confidence. The great thing about one-to-one tutoring is that the tutor can focus on specific problem areas, which often leads to progress much faster than in a classroom setting.
Can we get help for GCSE Geography as well as A-Level?
Of course. We have a huge range of tutors who specialise in all levels, from KS3 and GCSEs right through to A-Level and even university-level study. You can filter your search to find the perfect tutor for your child's specific needs.
How much do online Geography tutors for students in Cardiff cost?
Extremely flexible. You can arrange sessions directly with your tutor for times that suit your family, whether that's after school, on weekends, or during the holidays. It's designed to work around your life, not the other way around.
