Enthusiastic (and patient) tutor of French Tutor for all levels
Hi I have always loved French and have a natural flair and feel for it, so, naturally, I went on to study it atUniversity. My particular course gave me the opportunity to work in both France and Switzerland so I got to experience how people really work and live in both these places.I also travelled widely during my placements to experience the culture and understand the identity of the locals. My family and I have now returned to the UKafter more than 12 years of living and working in Paris. In fact, both my children were born in Paris. I am keen to maintain their level in French so regularly tutor...

Genevieve M
Genevieve is a fantastic tutor. She is extremely engaging to learn from, explaining everything very patiently and clearly, and she has a really good sense of humour. I’m particularly impressed by the effort she puts in to prepare extra learning materials for me between classes based on the specifics of what I struggled with in the previous lesson. I really didn’t expect that level of additional work from her, it’s so thoughtful and helpful. I intend to be learning French up to conversational fluency so I need many, many hours of teaching, and I am therefore very glad I chose Genevieve to deliver them as she makes the time fly by.

Can a tutor help my child get the GCSE grades needed for Central Bedfordshire College?

How can a French tutor strengthen my child's UCAS application?
A strong grade in a challenging subject like French demonstrates academic rigour to universities. A tutor can help your child achieve a higher grade, which strengthens their overall profile and shows admissions tutors they have a valuable skill set, making their application more competitive.
Are all the tutors background-checked?

What happens in a typical online French lesson?
Lessons are tailored to your child's needs. They might work on exam paper questions, practice conversational French, or break down difficult grammar concepts using the interactive whiteboard. The goal is to create a focused, engaging session that directly addresses what your child finds challenging.
What if my child doesn't get on with their first tutor?
We want to find the perfect match for your child. We have a First Lesson Guarantee, so if you don't get on with your tutor, email our support team at support@tutorful.co.uk and we will cover your first session with a new tutor.
How quickly can we expect to see an improvement in my child's French?
Every child learns at their own pace, but consistent one-to-one support can make a big difference quickly. Many parents tell us they see a boost in their child's confidence within just a few sessions. In fact, 90% of our students improve by at least one grade.
Is tutoring just for school subjects, or can my child learn other skills?
While we have fantastic tutors for core subjects like French, Maths, and English, we also offer a huge range of other skills! Your child can learn anything from coding or playing the guitar to music production and public speaking.
What technology do we need for online lessons?
It's very simple. All you need is a computer or tablet with a webcam, a microphone, and a stable internet connection. Our online classroom is browser-based, so there's no software to download.
Can a tutor help if my child has lost confidence in French?
Definitely. This is one of the biggest benefits of one-to-one tutoring. A great tutor provides a safe, encouraging space for your child to ask questions without fear of judgment. Rebuilding that confidence is often the first step to improving their grades.
