Sophia has been a brilliant help for my son, Lucas, as he prepared for his English Lit GCSE. Not only did she help improve his grades, but she also really boosted his confidence and helped him believe in his own ability. It’s clear she genuinely cares about her students and wants them to do their best. She was exceptionally flexible with scheduling lessons, which made things so much easier for us, and she went above and beyond outside of the sessions too – marking exam question responses and giving really useful feedback. She tailored the lessons to exactly what Lucas needed, thoughtfully adapting each session to focus on the areas he most needed help with. Her lessons were productive but also enjoyable, which made a huge difference in keeping him motivated. I honestly can’t recommend Sophia enough. Her dedication, adaptability, and warm, encouraging approach make her an outstanding tutor. I have found Nicholas’ lessons very helpful, as he has always explained concepts to me in a very thorough but clear way. He is very good at explaining examples that we go through together, and his lessons are very much interactive, but also engaging, due to his good sense of humour. We have been very lucky to find Kate. Our son Alex was so nervous with his GCSE English exams before meeting with Kate. Also, initially, not very enthusiastic with the idea of tuitions. But Kate has been so brilliant, clear, approachable, and managed to keep him engaged and focused. More importantly, she has been able, after just few lessons, to boost his confidence and to give him confidence and positivity. Our son now says he finds her lessons very helpful and looks forward to the lesson every week. Kate also revised with our son a topic which came up at the exam!!!

My son had the privilege of being tutored by Joe from the summer holidays, through year 11, up until his GCSE exams (now) for English language and literature. Joe reached out to me in response to my request for a teacher who could meet my son's needs (as he has special educational needs) and particularly picked up on the fact that my son needed a compassionate teacher. He definitely embodied compassion for my son for the duration of his tuition. He quickly established a trusted relationship with my son and gave him all the support he needed. He was adaptive and flexible according to how my son presented on the day. He offered my son breaks when required and generally maintained a low demand environment so my son's anxiety reduced and he was able to learn. Joe truly cared about my son's learning. My son had previously missed out on many years of learning due to his needs and anxiety and before meeting Joe, my son was failing both language and literature exams. Joe delivered a bespoke method of teaching, completely different to school. He employed techniques that were exactly in line with my son's needs, such as multi sensory techniques, breaking down objectives into small steps etc and made the lessons really engaging and accessible. Each lesson was diligently planned and this was very evident in the teaching. It was the first time my son began to understand English language written techniques and particularly the texts for the English Literature exam. However, the most valuable thing Joe helped my son achieve was regaining his confidence and hope that he could pass these exams. In my son's mocks, he was at borderline pass marks for Literature and already at a strong pass for Language. I truly feel these lessons have been a turning point for my son's English GCSEs. I am grateful that my son had the honour of being taught by such a highly qualified, knowledgeable, experienced and professional tutor. Joe was always reliable and if lesson timings needed to be changed (only a few times in the year), Joe communicated well and was very accommodating. I would highly recommend Joe for tuition as I feel other students would experience the same success in their educational journey with him as my son has benefitted from.
