Mamun A
My son is really improving since starting lessons with Mamun. From the start of the lesson getting almost all questions wrong to by the end completely understanding it all. Tested him a few days later and he got almost every question right without any help at all he remembered all the punctuation in all questions, shocked how much he's improved from just one lesson on it! Mamun's teaching is brilliant and it really seems to stick in my sons head. Also my son is very fussy with his ASD/ADHD and is often open about his feelings towards people, especially new people most often than not he will say he doesn't like this person because of this or that, but he said he likes his tutor and wants to do more lessons which is brilliant. Mamun is always on time, very patient and explains thoroughly, he gives brilliant feedback afterwards too. Highly recommend this tutor and I'm glad I chose him rather than someone else.

Brilliant English tutors who you’ll really click with.
Our experienced tutors take the time to understand where each student needs to focus and their preferred way of learning. They make a measurable difference – 90% of all students improve by at least one grade.
My child is preparing for the 11+ for a Devon grammar school. Can I find a tutor with specific experience?
Yes, absolutely. Many of our tutors have specific experience helping children prepare for 11+ entrance exams, including those for selective grammar schools. You can view their profiles, read reviews from other parents, and even message them before booking to ensure they're the right fit for your child's goals.
We're hoping for a place at the University of Exeter. Can a tutor help with A-Level English?
Definitely. We have a huge range of tutors who specialise in A-Level English Language and Literature. They can help your child master complex texts, refine their essay writing, and build the analytical skills needed to achieve top grades for a competitive university application.
How do I choose the right English tutor for my child?
The best way is to read tutor profiles and reviews from other parents. You can filter by subject, level, and price. We recommend sending a message to a few tutors to discuss your child's needs before booking your first session. It's all about finding a personality your child connects with.
What if my child doesn't click with their first tutor?
We know that the right fit is crucial for learning. That's why we have our First Lesson Guarantee. If you don't get on with your tutor, email our support team at support@tutorful.co.uk and we will cover your first session with a new tutor.
How much do online English tutors in Devon cost?
Our tutors set their own rates, so prices vary depending on their experience and level of study. You can easily filter your search to find a brilliant tutor who fits your family's budget. All pricing is shown clearly on their profiles.
How does online tutoring work?
It's simple! All lessons take place in our purpose-built online classroom. It includes a video chat, an interactive whiteboard, and document sharing tools. Your child just needs a computer or tablet, a webcam, and a stable internet connection to get started.
Are your tutors background checked?
Yes, your child's safety is our top priority. All our tutors are background-checked and we interview every single one. We're very selective and only accept 1 in 8 applicants, so you can have complete peace of mind.
How can a tutor help my child build confidence?
One-to-one tutoring provides a safe, supportive space where your child can ask questions without feeling embarrassed. By working at their pace and celebrating small wins, a tutor can help them overcome learning barriers and see that they are capable of succeeding, which is a huge confidence booster.
Can tutoring help with specific texts, like 'Macbeth' or 'An Inspector Calls'?
Yes, that's one of the biggest benefits of one-to-one tutoring. If your child needs help analysing quotes from 'Macbeth' or understanding the themes in 'An Inspector Calls', their tutor can dedicate entire sessions to that specific text, ensuring they feel fully prepared for their exams.
Do you only offer academic subjects, or could my child learn something new like guitar or coding?
We offer a huge range of subjects beyond the school curriculum. Whether your child wants to learn to play the guitar, get started with coding, or even learn a new language for fun, you can find an expert tutor to help them explore their interests.
What results can I expect for my child?
Every child learns at a different pace, but our data shows that 90% of our students improve by at least one grade. Join over 200,000 happy students who have found success with our tutors, who are trusted by parents like you, as shown by our 4.6-star rating from over 4,100 reviews.
How long is a typical tutoring session?
Most sessions are one hour long, which is usually the perfect amount of time to dive into a topic without your child losing focus. However, you can arrange different session lengths directly with your chosen tutor to fit what works best for your child.
