Find An Expert English Literature Tutor For Learners In Birmingham

Emma is a wonderful tutor. She is kind, patient, and gives my daughter a lot of confidence. She finds it very easy to talk to her and really looks forward to her lessons. My daughter has been doing her A level English Literature on her own for the last year but is now so much happier now she has found Emma. We cannot thank Emma enough and are so grateful that we found her!

Linda was absolutely amazing and made a truly significant difference to my daughter’s A-level journey. My daughter, Lucy, started tutoring with Linda in the second year of sixth form. Although Lucy had achieved excellent GCSE results, she was struggling with her A levels and was being graded D/E by her teachers. As a parent, this was extremely worrying, and I was concerned about whether she would be able to achieve the grades she needed. From the very beginning, Linda took the time to understand Lucy as an individual. She carefully reviewed her essays, identified exactly where she needed to improve, and worked patiently with her to develop her skills and confidence. Linda didn’t simply focus on the subject content; she taught Lucy how to approach exam questions, what examiners were looking for, how to structure and develop her answers, and, importantly, how to understand her own thinking and improve it. Lucy’s progress was gradual but remarkable. Linda was incredibly patient and encouraging throughout, and she always believed in Lucy’s ability — even during the times when I, as a parent, was worried and losing confidence. Linda was always reassuring and reminded us of what Lucy was capable of. Thanks to Linda’s patience, perseverance, expertise and excellent teaching, Lucy went from receiving D/E grades to achieving a B in her A level. Most importantly, she gained the confidence to believe in herself and was subsequently able to secure a place at a top university to study Law. I cannot thank Linda enough for everything she did for Lucy. Her dedication, patience and ability to bring out the best in her students are truly exceptional. Linda didn’t just help Lucy improve her grades — she helped her believe in herself and realise what she was capable of. I would wholeheartedly recommend Linda to any parent looking for a tutor who genuinely cares about her students and is committed to helping them achieve their potential.

Ruby was predicted a D grade for her English A-level and struggling with motivation when she started tuition with Hannah. Ruby passed her A-level with a B grade and just 3 marks from achieving an A. Hannah rekindled Ruby’s enthusiasm for English and encouraged her to be more confident in the strength of her own ideas. Very pleased with the results and would highly recommend Hannah.

Even after only a few sessions Mel has helped my son unravel abstract exam essay questions into clear time saving plans. His understanding of how to build evidenced judgment, craft thesis statements and ultimately develop a cohesive and sophisticated argument, including a perceptive counter argument, is improving lesson by lesson. Through acquiring exam essay know-how, and benefitting from practice drills, his confidence is steadily growing in time for mocks later this year.

Aileen was a great tutor who helped my daughter get the A she needed as part of her Oxford entry requirements for History and English Literature. Thanks again, Aileen!

What can I say but a massive thank you! Our daughter got a 4 in her mocks… and we then found Elizabeth. Result: 9 (and a very strong 9). She helped our daughter understand what the teachers were looking for and helped refocus in a subject we were really struggling with. Thank you!!

Very helpful and supportive tutor with lots of experience, who provided excellent guidance and support, helping to achieve two Grade 9s in English IGCSEs.

Laura is a great teacher who really helped Rudolph within a short notice when we needed her . She was also on time to teach online and gave him lots of assignments to practice. I highly recommend her for English which she taught Rudolph and he did very well on his A level exams.
