Creative English Language tutor
I have my (2.1) BA in English Literature from The University of Sheffield and have been an online tutor for two years. To date, I've taught over 3,000 lessons, from KS1 to A-Level which has enabled me to adapt my teaching style and content to different students. For example, when I tutored a student with ADHD I increased the number of activities while reducing the length to ensure they remained engaged with the lesson.Conversely, when tutoring one of my A-Level students with anxiety, I slowed the lesson pace and used fewer activities to reduce stress. In lessons, I predominately use visual learning...

Enthusiastic, Fun English Language English Literature and Language
As a Comparative Literature Graduate from Queen Mary University of London I have been teaching/tutoring English Literature at GCSE, A-Level and University level online and in person during the year (Edexcel, AQA, OCR). I love tutoring English because it allows me to share my passion for language and literature while helping others grow in their ability to communicate. There’s something incredibly rewarding about seeing a student’s confidence build as they begin to express themselves more clearly and fluently. Whether it’s explaining a grammar rule, helping with writing, or guiding someone throu...

Experienced and patient English Language tutor for little ones
Hi, I’m Maddy!I have over 5 years of experience tutoring children from Year 1 to Year 6, helping them to gain confidence in their Maths and English skills, and making sure they learn difficult topics at their own pace and in the ways that work best for them. I am passionate about helping little ones reach their full academic potential.A typical first lesson would entail us going through the subject matter they are studying at school and focusing on any areas of difficulty. I would ask them questions with varying levels of difficulty, across a range of topics, and would aim to identify their target a...

Leigh H
Leigh worked with our teenage son to prepare for his English Language iGCSE. With only a short time before the exam, they quickly developed a constructive rapport. Leigh was quickly able to assess where our son ‘was at’ in terms of his readiness for that exam. Over just a few sessions, analysis and writing skills were imparted and developed that meant our son felt prepared. Moreover, our son so enjoyed the way Leigh worked and his obvious passion for and skills in language analysis, that he chose to continue language analysis sessions just for the fun of it once the exam was over. A comment our son has made more than once after a session is, ‘I just love learning!’ The exam was passed really well – the outcome we hoped would be possible – but more significantly, we are grateful for Leigh’s ability to really draw out and develop our son’s enjoyment of the English language.

Ihsanur R
Last Year I did not do well in English Language in which I had a Grade 3. With my November resits fast approaching I felt very privileged to have Ihsanur as my tutor. He was able to present lessons in a concise way which helped me understand what went well and what I needed to improve on.
After the November resits I managed to obtain a Grade 4 in English Language AQA. I would really recommend him for those taking the GCSE 2026 because he is committed and dedicated in order to achieve academic potential with pupils. Thanks again Ihsanur for the hard work you do.

Flora I
Flora has been helping Isla prepare for her English Literature and English Language GCSE exams. From the first lesson, Flora “clicked” with Isla and quickly understood her needs. She made Isla feel comfortable and pinpointed areas for development and was so supportive. Isla felt at ease and could ask questions knowing that the necessary time would be taken to help her understand. Flora was incredibly accommodating, adjusting lesson times and dates as needed. She was also very responsive to messages and promptly returned marked work, going above and beyond to support us. Isla’s work was annotated and marked, providing valuable feedback and areas for future focus, which has been invaluable. Flora’s passion for the subject shone through, thank you so much Flora!

Brilliant English Language tutors who you’ll really click with.
Our experienced tutors take the time to understand where each student needs to focus and their preferred way of learning. They make a measurable difference – 90% of all students improve by at least one grade.
My child attends a school in Ealing. Can an online tutor tailor lessons to their specific curriculum?
Absolutely. Our tutors are experienced with a wide range of UK curricula and exam boards, including AQA and Edexcel. During your first session, the tutor will get to know your child's specific needs and what they're covering at their school in Ealing to create a truly personalised learning plan.
Is online English tutoring as effective as meeting a tutor in person?
Yes, and many families find it even more effective. Online sessions use interactive tools like digital whiteboards that make analysing texts and planning essays really engaging. Plus, it gives your child in Ealing access to a huge pool of specialist UK tutors, not just those who live locally, all from the comfort of home.
What happens if my child doesn't click with their first English Language tutor?
We know that the right fit is crucial for success. That's why we have our first lesson guarantee. If you don't feel the tutor is the right match for your child, just email our support team at support@tutorful.co.uk and we will cover the cost of your first session with a new tutor.
How do you select your English Language tutors?
We have a rigorous selection process and only accept 1 in 8 tutors who apply. Every tutor is background-checked, interviewed, and has proven subject expertise, so you can be sure your child is learning from a dedicated and knowledgeable professional.
My child has lost all confidence in English. How can a tutor help?
This is where one-to-one tutoring really shines. A great tutor provides a safe space for your child to ask questions without fear of judgement. By breaking down tricky topics and celebrating small wins, they rebuild confidence step-by-step, reminding your child that they are capable of succeeding.
How much do online English Language tutors for students in Ealing cost?
Our tutors set their own rates, typically starting from £15 an hour. You can easily filter tutors by price on our platform to find an experienced professional who fits your budget. There are no hidden fees or long-term contracts.
We live in Ealing and have a very busy schedule. How flexible are the lesson times?
Extremely flexible. That's one of the biggest benefits of online tutoring. You can schedule sessions for evenings, weekends, or whenever suits your family's routine. No travel time means it's much easier to fit quality academic support around school, clubs, and family commitments.
With Ealing's connection to film, can a tutor help my child with creative writing or scriptwriting?
Definitely. Many of our English tutors are passionate about creative writing and can absolutely help your child explore skills beyond the curriculum, such as storytelling, character development, and even the basics of scriptwriting. It's a fantastic way to make English feel relevant and exciting.
Beyond English Language, does Tutorful offer support for other subjects?
Yes, we do. We have expert tutors across more than 300 subjects, from core GCSEs like maths and the sciences to A-Levels, languages, and even practical skills like coding or learning a musical instrument. You can find all the support your child needs in one place.
What technology do we need for an online tutoring session?
It's very simple. All your child needs is a laptop or computer with a webcam, a microphone, and a stable internet connection. Our custom-built online classroom has all the tools they'll need, including an interactive whiteboard, built right in.
Can a tutor help with specific exam boards like AQA or Edexcel for GCSE English?
Yes. Our tutors are well-versed in the requirements of all the major exam boards. You can view which boards a tutor specialises in on their profile, ensuring you find someone who knows exactly what examiners are looking for in your child's GCSE or A-Level exams.
How quickly can we expect to see results?
Every child learns at their own pace, but the one-to-one focus of tutoring often leads to rapid progress. Many parents tell us they see a boost in their child's confidence and understanding within just a few sessions. In the long term, 90% of our students improve by at least one grade.
