Edward has helped me a lot with understanding A level Chemistry more. Thanks to his guidance and patience I've had an easier time going through past papers and understanding concepts I didn't understand before. Not only that, but he has been a huge help with supporting me by providing a UCAS reference. Most definitely recommended, thank you.

Alice T
Alice has been fantastic at building our daughter’s confidence in A-level OCR Chemistry. She is patient, encouraging, and always willing to revisit topics until they're fully understood. Our daughter approaches Chemistry with much less anxiety and far more belief in her own ability now and we have seen a dramatic improvement in her examination results. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Alice.

How does an online Chemistry tutor help my child improve their grades?
Our online Chemistry tutors provide one-to-one support tailored to your child's specific needs. They can revisit challenging topics like balancing equations or understanding reaction rates, work through past papers, and build strong problem-solving skills. This personalised approach helps clarify misunderstandings and significantly boosts confidence, leading to better results. In fact, 90% of students improve by at least one grade, and for GCSE Chemistry, we often see improvements of up to 2 grades.
How do you ensure the Chemistry tutors are high quality and safe for my child?
We are incredibly selective about our tutors. We only accept 1 in 8 applicants, and every single Chemistry tutor goes through a rigorous vetting process, including enhanced background checks and a thorough interview process. We also verify their qualifications and experience, so you can be confident your child is learning from a trusted expert in a safe online environment.
What can my child expect from their first online Chemistry lesson?
The first lesson is all about getting to know your child. The tutor will typically discuss their current understanding of Chemistry, identify any areas where they need extra support, and set some initial goals together. It’s a great opportunity for your child to experience the one-to-one learning environment and start building a rapport with their tutor.
How much does online Chemistry tutoring cost?
The cost of online Chemistry tutoring varies depending on the tutor's experience and qualifications. You can browse tutor profiles to see their hourly rates before booking, ensuring you find an expert that fits your budget. There are no hidden fees, and you only pay for the lessons your child takes.
Can an online Chemistry tutor help my child prepare for A-Level science programmes at Cardinal Newman College or Runshaw College?
Absolutely. Our expert Chemistry tutors understand the leap required from GCSE to A-Level. They can help your child solidify foundational knowledge, introduce more complex concepts that will be covered in college, and develop the independent study skills needed to thrive in demanding A-Level science programmes at institutions like Cardinal Newman College or Runshaw College. This preparation is key to building confidence for future success.
How can a Chemistry tutor support my child's ambition for competitive university courses like medicine or engineering?
A strong grasp of Chemistry is vital for highly competitive university courses. A tutor can help your child not only achieve top GCSE and A-Level grades but also foster a deeper understanding of the subject. They can challenge your child with advanced problems, discuss real-world applications of Chemistry, and even offer insights into the academic rigour expected for degrees in medicine, dentistry, or engineering at universities like UCLan and beyond, helping them build a truly impressive academic profile.
How do I choose the best online Chemistry tutor for my child?
We make it easy to find the perfect match. You can browse through detailed tutor profiles, watch introductory videos, and read reviews from other parents. Consider their experience, teaching style, and how well their specialisms align with your child's specific needs in Chemistry. Many tutors also offer a free chat to discuss your child's goals before you commit to a lesson.
Is online tutoring as effective as in-person lessons for Chemistry?
Yes, absolutely! Online Chemistry tutoring offers incredible flexibility and can be just as, if not more, effective. Our virtual classroom is designed with interactive whiteboards, document sharing, and video calls, making it easy for your child to work through equations, diagrams, and experiments with their tutor. It's learning that fits around your family's schedule in Preston, without compromising on quality.
What if my child doesn't get along with their first Chemistry tutor?
We want your child to have the best possible learning experience. That's why we offer our First Lesson Guarantee: if you don't get on with your tutor, email our support team at support@tutorful.co.uk and we will cover your first session with a new tutor.
How will I know if my child is making progress in Chemistry?
Our tutors are great at keeping you informed. You'll often have regular check-ins, and after each lesson, you can review lesson notes and feedback from the tutor. This transparent approach means you'll always be aware of your child's progress, their strengths, and any areas they're continuing to work on in Chemistry.
Can my child get help with specific Chemistry exam boards, like AQA or Edexcel?
Yes, many of our Chemistry tutors specialise in particular exam boards such as AQA, Edexcel, or OCR. When you're searching for a tutor, you can filter by exam board to find an expert who is fully familiar with the specific curriculum and marking schemes relevant to your child's upcoming GCSEs or A-Levels, ensuring highly targeted revision.
How do I choose the best online Chemistry tutor for my child?
While we excel in academic subjects like Chemistry, Tutorful offers a wide range of learning opportunities. Your child could also find tutors for subjects beyond the curriculum, from learning a new language or musical instrument to developing skills in coding, graphic design, or even preparing for specific entrance exams like the 11+.
