Manuel has tutored my son for GCSE Spanish for the last 6 months. He has raised my son’s predicted grade from a possible B to a solid A over this period. My son’s confidence in the subject has very noticeably improved for all aspects of the subject. Manuel has a friendly, thorougher and likeable personality towards the tuition sessions. He has certainly made it an enjoyable experience.
Manuel was a friendly and knowledgable tutor who understands a child’s needs. My son enjoyed his lessons.
Manuel is patient and enthusiastic. My son enjoys learning from Manuel Math and English.
Jaiden really enjoyed his first lesson and was able to stay focused through out. Looking forward to seeing the long term results.
I first dipped into Spanish in 2017 using the coffee break Spanish series. At the time, I was a casual learner where I picked up a few introductory phrases and vocabulary. However, it was clear after a few visits to Spain that I wasn’t making the progress I wanted. I tried a tutor for the first time in 2018 but found that I was dictating the lesson schedule and it just wasn’t the structure that worked for me - after all, I didn’t know the language! I stopped doing lessons and felt like I would never get to my goal of being a confident intermediate-level speaker. At the start of lockdown, something clicked and I decided to commit fully to learning the language. I made good progress in learning A1 & A2 grammar, vocab and phrases as an independent learner. When I went to Spain in July 2020 I felt more confident. However, I felt I was still missing the structure to my learning that I needed and lacked the ability to communicate effectively. I’d been using Babbel, which was great as an introductory tool, but I realised I’d exhausted its value. I wasn’t assimilating the language and I just felt I wasn’t making enough progress. That’s when I realised I needed to try another tutor and how glad I am that I found Manuel! I’ve been learning with him since July 2020 and have progressed from a weak A2 level towards an intermediate level (B1) to the point where I feel that reaching my goal of a strong B2 level actually feels attainable. The lessons have integrated listening, reading and speaking exercises and we often get a good opportunity to speak in the language. This gives me the immersion I need. After over 30 lessons, I can truly say that Manuel is a brilliant teacher and I couldn’t recommend him more highly! I have to say that one of my favourite quirks of our lessons has been exploring Spanish music artists; allowing me to immerse myself further in Spanish culture. I’m looking forward to more lessons with Manuel and continuing my Spanish language journey over the months ahead! Gracias, Manuel!
Manuel is an excellent spanish teacher, friendly, helpful and efficient. My daughter really enjoys his lessons each week.
