Nice to meet you! Iā€™m currently 19 and studying Natural Science - chemistry- at the University of Cambridge. I thoroughly enjoy helping people grapple with a range subjects, from the basics through to the trickier areas.I am the oldest of 4 and so have plenty of experience teaching to younger children (and teenagers!). Hi! Iā€™m Isobel, an undergraduate Medicine student and part-time tutor based in York. I have always had an interest in the sciences and maths, but it wasn't always an easy ride for me! When studying for my Biology and Chemistry A-Levels, I quickly realised that a very different approach to learning was needed if I wanted to reach the top grades. Because of this, I spent extensive time researching into different learning strategies in order to help me study and remember information - it certainly paid off when I was offered a place at Medical school the following September! My own learning journey h...

Thomas H
My son really enjoyed his tutoring sessions with Tom. He very quickly determined the gaps within my sons maths knowledge and helped him to fill them in. My son was very comfortable in Tom's company and they formed a good rapport. Alongside his weekly sessions, Tom was in touch with my son whenever he had any questions about his school maths work or the work that Tom set him himself. He really helped improve his confidence with his maths. I would definitely recommend Tom.

Thomas P
The first lesson, to assist my daughter with A-level maths, went very well. Thomas had asked in advance which topics my daughter wanted particular help with, and he came very well prepared. My daughter found Thomas very approachable, with an excellent teaching style and found the session really helpful. He was able to explain a topic she found difficult in a different way, and now she understands it better. Sheā€™s asked to have more lessons with Thomas leading up to exams.

If you want your child to be inspired and regain their love of science she's the one. Sandra came every week with a plan and knew our child's strengths and things he struggled with. She pushed the basics and they often had discussions about things not on the curriculum. Hence he regained his love of science. We are fortunate to have been able to have Sandra as a tutor.
