Ekaterina is friendly and encouraging and her lessons always feel lively and personal. She brings in real-life examples and cultural context that make learning the language much more interesting! I really enjoy how she mixes conversation practice with grammar and uses different resources like online quizzes, short texts, and discussions. I always come away feeling like I’ve learned something useful! :)

Elina K
Elina's lessons have been very helpful to me for multiple reasons. She's helped me a lot with improving my vocabulary, speaking confidence, and grammar. We've focused equally on all of these things and this has me progressing evenly in all areas.
Elina is very friendly and easy-going. This creates a positive environment where it's easy to learn. She's also a native Russian speaker, and so her understanding of Russian is obviously very advanced. Her English is great too, which makes things easier for a native English speaker like me, as she can translate Russian into English easily.

Brilliant Russian tutors who you’ll really click with.
Our experienced tutors take the time to understand where each student needs to focus and their preferred way of learning. They make a measurable difference – 90% of all students improve by at least one grade.
My child is aiming for a top university like UCL or King's College. Can a tutor help with that?
Absolutely. Many of our Russian tutors are graduates from top universities and have experience helping students prepare strong applications. They can focus on the specific A-Level topics and exam techniques needed to secure the grades for competitive courses.
My child is fluent in speaking but struggles with grammar. Can a tutor help?
This is a very common situation, and it's exactly where a tutor can help most. They can identify the specific gaps in your child's grammatical knowledge and create a tailored plan to build their confidence in writing and formal language, turning their fluency into a real academic advantage.
We live in Hackney. Does it matter that the tutor isn't local?
Not at all. Because all our lessons are online, you get access to the very best Russian tutors from across the UK, not just those who live locally. This gives you a much wider choice of specialists to find the perfect match for your child's personality and learning style.
How do I find the right Russian tutor for my child?
You can use our search filters to find tutors with the right experience, whether it's for GCSEs, A-Levels, or conversational practice. You can read their profiles, watch their intro videos, and check reviews from other parents. You can also message tutors for free before booking to ensure they're a great fit.
What happens if we don't click with the first tutor?
We want to make sure you find the perfect match for your child. If you don't get on with your tutor, email our support team at support@tutorful.co.uk and we will cover your first session with a new tutor.
How do I know the tutors are safe and qualified?
Your child's safety is our top priority. Every tutor is background-checked and we interview every single one to ensure they have the right experience. We're very selective and only accept 1 in every 8 tutors who apply, so you can be sure your child is in safe, expert hands.
How much do online Russian lessons cost?
Prices vary depending on the tutor's experience and level of study, but you can set your own budget and filter your search to find someone who fits. Tutors set their own rates, and you can see them clearly on their profiles with no hidden costs.
How do the online lessons work?
Our online classroom has everything your child needs for a great lesson, including a video chat, an interactive whiteboard, and a way to share documents. It's designed to be simple and engaging, allowing your child and their tutor to focus on learning.
Can tutoring help my child feel more confident?
Yes, this is one of the biggest benefits we see. The one-to-one attention in a supportive environment helps your child feel comfortable asking questions they might not ask in class. As they see themselves making progress, their confidence grows, and this often has a positive impact on their other subjects too.
How often should my child have a lesson?
Most families choose to have one lesson per week to build momentum and see steady progress. However, the schedule is completely flexible and up to you. You can arrange sessions with your tutor at a time that fits around your family's other commitments.
How long is a typical tutoring session?
The standard lesson length is one hour, which gives enough time to cover a topic in depth without your child losing focus. You can, however, discuss different session lengths with your tutor if you feel your child would benefit from it.
How much do online Russian lessons cost?
While we're here to help with academic subjects like Russian, Maths, and English from the 11+ to degree level, we also have tutors for a huge range of other skills. Your child could learn anything from coding and guitar to a new language for fun.
