Amy W
Amy W is very concise and extremely helpful when getting complicated information wrapped around your head. She is super friendly and easy to talk to, which makes sessions comfortable and stress-free. The only hiccup is the wifi choosing to bug out, now and then. But, otherwise, Amy gives a very excellent tutoring experience.

Brilliant Psychology tutors who you’ll really click with.
Our experienced tutors take the time to understand where each student needs to focus and their preferred way of learning. They make a measurable difference – 90% of all students improve by at least one grade.
How can a tutor help my child with a competitive application for Psychology at the University of Manchester?
Our tutors, many of whom are university-level academics, can provide invaluable support. They help your child develop a deeper, more critical understanding of the subject that goes beyond the A-level curriculum. They can guide them in exploring further reading, debating complex topics, and articulating their passion in a way that truly stands out on a UCAS personal statement.
We're worried about finding Psychology work experience in Oldham. Can a tutor help?
Absolutely. Whilst work experience is great, admissions tutors also look for 'intellectual curiosity'. A great tutor can help your child demonstrate this by exploring psychological research, discussing relevant books and podcasts, and even guiding them through an EPQ on a psychological topic. This shows a proactive passion for the subject, which is highly valued.
My child is competing with students from well-resourced schools. How does tutoring level the playing field?
Online tutoring gives your child access to the same high-calibre expertise, regardless of their school. We only accept 1 in 8 tutors who apply, ensuring your child learns from a true subject specialist from anywhere in the UK. This one-to-one focus allows them to ask questions they might not in class and build confidence at their own pace, closing any perceived gaps.
Is online tutoring as effective as in-person for a subject like Psychology?
Yes, and for many students, it's even better. Our online classroom has interactive whiteboards perfect for mapping out theories and essays. The focused, one-to-one environment encourages deeper discussion, and the convenience of learning from home in Oldham means your child can be relaxed and ready to learn without any travel time.
What happens if my child doesn't click with their first Psychology tutor?
Finding the right personality match is essential. We have a first lesson guarantee to ensure you do. If for any reason it doesn't feel right, just email our support team at support@tutorful.co.uk and we will cover the cost of your first session with a new tutor.
How do you vet your Psychology tutors?
We take safety and quality very seriously. Every tutor is background-checked and must undergo a rigorous application process, including an interview, to assess their teaching skills and subject expertise. We only accept the top 1 in 8 applicants, so you can be sure you're choosing from the best.
Can we find a tutor who specialises in A-Level exam technique?
Of course. Many of our Psychology tutors are examiners or have extensive experience with the specific demands of A-level boards like AQA, OCR, and Edexcel. They can provide targeted support on essay structure, evaluation skills, and how to interpret exam questions to help your child maximise their marks.
How much does online Psychology tutoring for a student in Oldham cost?
Our tutors set their own hourly rates, typically starting from around £25 per hour, depending on their experience and level of expertise. You can browse profiles and filter by price to find a brilliant tutor who fits your budget, with no hidden fees or contracts.
What technology do we need for online lessons?
It's very simple. All your child needs is a laptop or computer with a webcam, a microphone, and a stable internet connection. Our custom-built online classroom runs directly in your browser, so there's no software to download.
How many sessions a week will my child need?
This is completely flexible and depends on your child's goals. Most students have one session a week to build momentum and stay on track, but you can arrange more frequent lessons during exam periods or fewer during holidays. It's a conversation to have with your chosen tutor.
Do you offer tutoring for other subjects besides Psychology?
Yes, we do! We have expert tutors across more than 300 subjects, from core GCSEs and A-levels like Maths and English to university-level topics, musical instruments, and coding. We're here to support your child's entire learning journey.
Can we find a tutor who specialises in A-Level exam technique?
Our tutors are based all across the UK, not specifically in Oldham. The beauty of our online platform is that it connects your child with the best possible subject specialist for their needs, regardless of geography. This gives you a much wider choice of exceptional tutors than if you were limited to only those who live locally.
