Hello, my name is Martin, and I am here to shake up your idea of learning! I was born in 1993 in Kaiserslautern, Germany, though life brought me to Lincoln by now. I currently work at HMP Lincoln as a tutor, though I am currently enjoying parental leave and spending time with my son. With hundreds of students over the past 10 years, a vast majority passed their exams or reached their ambitions in learning and speaking German. I credit this success to the fact that my main ambition is to make learning a fun, enjoyable experience that makes you laugh and smile. Reality is that children often do not...

Amy W
Amy W is very concise and extremely helpful when getting complicated information wrapped around your head. She is super friendly and easy to talk to, which makes sessions comfortable and stress-free. The only hiccup is the wifi choosing to bug out, now and then. But, otherwise, Amy gives a very excellent tutoring experience.

Brilliant Psychology tutors who you’ll really click with.
Our experienced tutors take the time to understand where each student needs to focus and their preferred way of learning. They make a measurable difference – 90% of all students improve by at least one grade.
My child's at NSCG and worries about keeping up with students from other schools. Can a tutor help?
Yes, this is exactly where one-to-one support makes a huge difference. A tutor can go at your child's pace, build a solid foundation on new topics, and give them the confidence to feel on equal footing with peers from any school. It's about turning that anxiety into a feeling of being prepared and capable.
With Keele University on our doorstep, we want to aim high. Can tutoring support a strong UCAS application?
Absolutely. Securing top A-Level grades is crucial, and a tutor can provide targeted support to get there. They can also help your child explore topics beyond the syllabus, preparing them for interviews and helping them write a personal statement that shows genuine passion and deeper understanding of the subject.
Is online tutoring as effective as in-person for a subject like Psychology?
Many students find it even better. Our online classroom has interactive whiteboards perfect for mapping out theories, and tutors can share resources and past papers instantly. It creates a focused learning environment, and it means your child in Newcastle-under-Lyme can learn from a top UK specialist, not just whoever lives nearby.
What if my child doesn't click with their first Psychology tutor?
We know how important the right fit is for building confidence. If the first session isn't quite right, just email our support team at support@tutorful.co.uk, and we will cover the cost of your first lesson with a new tutor.
Are your tutors qualified to teach A-Level Psychology?
Yes. Every tutor on our platform is background-checked and interviewed to ensure they have the subject expertise and teaching skill to help your child succeed. Many are experienced teachers or examiners with deep knowledge of the A-Level curriculum.
How much do online Psychology tutors for students in Newcastle-under-Lyme cost?
Our tutors set their own hourly rates, typically starting from £15. You can browse profiles, read reviews from other parents, and check prices to find an expert who fits your budget and your child's specific needs.
How do we schedule sessions around a busy college timetable?
That's one of the biggest benefits of online tutoring. You can view each tutor's availability on their profile and find a time that fits perfectly around your child's college commitments, part-time work, or other activities. Lessons can be booked for evenings, weekends—whatever works for you.
What technology do we need for online lessons?
It's very simple. All your child needs is a laptop or computer with a webcam, a microphone, and a stable internet connection. Our online classroom is browser-based, so there's no complicated software to download.
Can we find a tutor who specialises in a specific area, like research methods or biopsychology?
Yes, you can. Tutor profiles list their areas of expertise, so you can find someone who is a perfect match for the specific topics your child finds most challenging. This is a key advantage of having access to a UK-wide network of tutors.
Beyond A-Levels, can my child get help with other subjects?
Of course. We have expert tutors for over 300 subjects. Whether your child needs support with another A-Level, is preparing for university, or wants to learn a new skill like coding or playing the guitar, we're here to help.
How long does a typical tutoring session last?
Most sessions are one hour long, which is usually ideal for covering a topic in depth without it becoming overwhelming. However, you can arrange different session lengths with your tutor if needed.
How do we schedule sessions around a busy college timetable?
Many parents tell us they notice a difference after just a few sessions. When a child starts to feel understood and realises they *can* grasp difficult topics, their self-belief often grows quickly. Our goal is to see them not just improve their grades, but also feel more positive about their learning.
