Amy W is very concise and extremely helpful when getting complicated information wrapped around your head. She is super friendly and easy to talk to, which makes sessions comfortable and stress-free. Brilliant Psychology tutors who you’ll really click with.
Our experienced tutors take the time to understand where each student needs to focus and their preferred way of learning. They make a measurable difference – 90% of all students improve by at least one grade.
My child is aiming for the Psychology course at the University of Bath. Can a tutor really help them bridge the gap from an A to an A*?
Absolutely. Moving from an A to an A* at A-Level is often about mastering exam technique and evaluation skills, not just knowing the content. Our tutors are experts in this. They can work with your child to refine their essay structure, deepen their critical analysis, and show them exactly what examiners look for to award the highest marks.
My child goes to a great school like Ralph Allen or Beechen Cliff. How does tutoring complement their schoolwork?
We see tutoring as a partnership with school. A great teacher manages a whole class, but a tutor provides focused, one-to-one attention. They can reinforce what’s taught in school, spend extra time on topics your child finds tricky, and stretch their thinking beyond the syllabus, giving them the confidence and edge needed to compete for top university places.
Are your Psychology tutors familiar with the curriculum taught in Bath's sixth forms?
Yes. Our tutors are specialists in the main UK exam boards (AQA, Edexcel, OCR) used by schools across the country, including those in Bath. When you search, you can filter for tutors with specific experience in your child's exam board to ensure the support is perfectly aligned with what they're learning in class.
Is online tutoring as effective as in-person for a subject like Psychology?
It really is. Our online classroom has interactive whiteboards, screen sharing, and document editing tools that make discussing complex ideas and breaking down essay plans simple and effective. Plus, the huge advantage for students in Bath is gaining access to A-Level specialists from anywhere in the UK, not just those who live locally.
What happens if my child doesn't click with their first Psychology tutor?
Finding the right personality match is crucial, and we want you to be completely happy. If the first lesson doesn't feel like the right fit, please email our support team at support@tutorful.co.uk and we will cover the cost of your first session with a new tutor.
How do I find the right tutor for my child's specific needs?
You can use our search filters to find tutors based on their experience with the A-Level Psychology syllabus, their teaching style, and their availability. You can also read detailed reviews from other parents and message tutors beforehand to make sure they’re the perfect fit for your child.
Can a tutor also help with the university application process?
Many of our Psychology tutors, especially those with university-level experience, are brilliant at helping with personal statements and preparing for university interviews. They can help your child articulate their passion for the subject in a way that will impress admissions tutors at Russell Group universities.
How much do online Psychology tutors for students in Bath cost?
Our tutors set their own rates, typically starting from around £25 per hour. Prices vary based on the tutor's experience and level of demand. You can see each tutor's price clearly on their profile, so you can find someone brilliant who fits your budget.
What technology do we need for an online lesson?
It's very simple. All you need is a laptop or computer with a webcam, a microphone, and a stable internet connection. Our entire platform is browser-based, so there’s no software to download. It's designed to be as easy and accessible as possible.
How long are sessions and how frequent should they be?
Sessions are typically an hour long. For A-Level students aiming for a top grade, one session a week is usually a great rhythm to build momentum, consolidate school learning, and practise exam skills without feeling overwhelmed. You can discuss the ideal frequency directly with your chosen tutor.
Are your tutors qualified to teach A-Level Psychology?
Yes. We have a rigorous selection process, accepting only 1 in 8 applicants. Many of our Psychology tutors have degrees in the subject, teaching qualifications, and extensive experience helping students achieve top A-Level grades. We also carry out background checks on all our tutors.
Can a tutor also help with the university application process?
We do! We have expert tutors across a huge range of subjects, from core academics like Maths and English to other social sciences like Sociology and Politics, and even practical skills like coding or learning a musical instrument. You can find support for all of your child's interests on Tutorful.
