"Joe has been great for me so far after I decided to take up piano as a hobby midway through the year. The lessons, whilst following a curriculum (working towards grade 1 for me) also progress quickly, targeting key skills sometimes even above the level that you are learning at. Piano is all about repetition and as such learning these skills early ingrains them and makes future practice not only easier but also more varied and interesting. Aside from his curriculum Joe is obviously very passionate about music and lessons often include an impromptu theory aspect which helps to give background on why you are doing some of the things you are doing. He has also been helpful in selecting books to use for general practice and sight reading. All in all I've probably advanced more in the past 4 months that I ever have trying to learn on my own (motivation and direction were my main issues). Looking at it as a whole I've gone from struggling to play row row row your boat to learning (albeit one of the simpler ones) a Mozart piece! Recommended."
