I am a Royal Holloway, University London graduate with a BA and MA, specialising in arts and humanities. I am very keen to help pupils to learn and fully understand what they might not get in a classroom environment. Whilst at school and even at university, I had one-on-one help and I would not have got the grades if it was not for this extra help. That is why I want to help those who may need the extra help to get the grades they want.I did my A levels at a school as opposed to a college and this gave me the experience to work with the lower parts of the school (junior and senior). I would help...

Sam F
Supportive Maths tutor
I am now graduated from Oxford University with a degree in mathematics.Mathematics is a subject a lot of people struggle with, but only because it isn't taught like it should be. Maths can be a beautiful subject with visual intuition and ah-hah applications, and a bridge of so much more in between.I like to try and help teach people not just lists of facts to memorise, but to help them see why all of this works until it seems like common sense. A good mathematical education is one where you can see not just what you need to know, but deep under the hood as well.I remember when I was in school and...

Dedicated Maths tutor
As a Chemical Engineering graduate from the University of Manchester, I saw firsthand how many of my classmates struggled with Maths and English. It wasn't just a few; it was a common challenge. Seeing their difficulties sparked something in me. I found that I genuinely loved helping them understand concepts that seemed confusing. The feeling of watching them grasp a difficult idea was incredibly rewarding, and that's when I discovered my passion for teaching.I strongly disagree with the idea that people are naturally "good" at one subject and "bad" at another. I believe that anyone can learn anything...

Miss Cedra has been tutoring my y10 daughter for a few weeks now and she is finding the support super helpful. My daughter had a retest and said she found answering the 8 mark questions much easier and felt a lot more confident in some of the areas she was struggling. Would definitely recommend Miss Cedra as she has a wide knowledge on subjects and is patient and attentive.

Brilliant Maths tutors who you’ll really click with.
Our experienced tutors take the time to understand where each student needs to focus and their preferred way of learning. They make a measurable difference – 90% of all students improve by at least one grade.
We're aiming for A-Levels at Rochdale Sixth Form College. Can a tutor help my child secure the Maths grade they need?
Absolutely. Many of our tutors are experts in the GCSE curriculum and know exactly what's needed to secure a grade 5 or higher. They can create a tailored plan to target the specific areas your child needs to improve, giving them the best possible chance of meeting the entry requirements for their chosen courses.
My child attends Hollingworth Academy. Can a tutor tailor lessons to their specific schoolwork?
Yes, that's one of the biggest benefits of one-to-one tutoring. Tutors can work with your child's current school curriculum, helping them with homework, preparing for mocks, and building their understanding of topics as they're taught in class. This ensures the tutoring directly supports their learning at school.
How do I choose the right Maths tutor for my child?
You can watch introductory videos, read reviews from other parents, and check each tutor's qualifications and experience on their profile. We recommend messaging a few tutors to discuss your child's needs before booking. Finding someone your child connects with is the most important step.
What happens if we don't click with the first Maths tutor?
We know that the right fit is essential for learning. That's why we have our First Lesson Guarantee. If you don't get on with your first tutor for any reason, email our support team at support@tutorful.co.uk and we will cover your first session with a new tutor.
How much does an online Maths tutor cost?
Our tutors set their own rates, so prices vary depending on their experience and qualifications. You can easily filter tutors by price to find an expert who fits your budget. All pricing is shown clearly on their profiles with no hidden fees.
How can I be sure the tutors are safe and qualified?
Your child's safety is our top priority. We interview every tutor and they must all pass an enhanced background check. We are very selective, accepting only 1 in 8 tutors who apply, so you can have complete peace of mind.
How can a tutor help my child if they've lost their confidence in Maths?
This is very common, and our tutors are brilliant at rebuilding confidence. In a one-to-one setting, your child can ask questions without feeling embarrassed. Tutors create a positive, patient learning space, celebrating small wins and breaking down difficult topics until they click.
Is tutoring just for school subjects like Maths?
Not at all! While we support core academic subjects from the 11+ to degree level, we also have expert tutors for a huge range of skills and hobbies. Whether your child wants to learn to play the guitar, speak Spanish, or get started with coding, we can help.
How do the online lessons actually work?
Our online classroom has everything your child needs for a great lesson, including a video chat, an interactive whiteboard, and a way to share documents. All your child needs is a laptop or computer with a webcam, a microphone, and a stable internet connection.
What exam boards do your GCSE Maths tutors cover?
Our tutors have experience with all the major UK exam boards, including AQA, Edexcel, and OCR. You can see which exam boards a tutor specialises in on their profile, ensuring you find the perfect match for your child's school.
How long does it take to see an improvement in my child's grade?
Every child learns at their own pace, but consistency is key. Many parents tell us they see a boost in their child's confidence after just a few sessions. Our data shows that 90% of students who have regular lessons with us improve by at least one grade.
How many lessons will my child need?
This really depends on your child's goals. Some students have a regular weekly lesson to stay on top of their schoolwork, while others might book a block of sessions to prepare for a specific exam. You can discuss this with your chosen tutor, and there are no long-term contracts or commitments.
