Miss Cedra has been tutoring my y10 daughter for a few weeks now and she is finding the support super helpful. My daughter had a retest and said she found answering the 8 mark questions much easier and felt a lot more confident in some of the areas she was struggling. Would definitely recommend Miss Cedra as she has a wide knowledge on subjects and is patient and attentive.

We're aiming for a place at Foyle College or Lumen Christi College. Can a tutor help with the Maths Transfer Test?
Yes, absolutely. Many of our tutors have specific experience helping children prepare for the Transfer Test. They can build a strong foundation in core Maths topics, work on exam technique, and help your child feel confident and ready for the day.
My child hopes to study a STEM subject at Ulster University. Can a tutor support their A-Level Maths?
Definitely. We have a huge range of tutors who specialise in A-Level Maths. They can provide targeted support to help your child secure the high grades needed for competitive university courses in science, technology, engineering, and maths.
How do I choose the right Maths tutor for my child?
You can browse tutor profiles, read reviews from other parents, and watch their introductory videos to get a feel for their teaching style. You can also message tutors for free before booking to discuss your child's specific needs and goals.
How much does an online Maths tutor cost?
Prices vary depending on the tutor's experience and qualifications, but you can easily filter tutors by price to find one that fits your budget. All pricing is shown clearly on each tutor's profile, so there are no hidden costs.
How are your tutors vetted?
We take safety and quality very seriously. Every tutor is background-checked and has their ID verified. We also interview them to ensure they have the right experience and passion for teaching. We only accept 1 in every 8 tutors who apply, so you know you're choosing from the best.
What if my child doesn't get on with their first tutor?
It's really important that your child feels comfortable with their tutor. That's why we have our First Lesson Guarantee. If you don't get on with your tutor, email our support team at support@tutorful.co.uk and we will cover your first session with a new tutor.
How do the online lessons work?
Our online classroom has everything your child needs for a great lesson, including a video chat, an interactive whiteboard, and a way to share documents. It's designed to be simple and engaging, allowing your child and their tutor to work together just as they would in person.
Can a tutor help if my child has lost their confidence in Maths?
Yes, this is one of the most common reasons parents seek a tutor. A great tutor can create a supportive, encouraging space for your child to ask questions without feeling embarrassed. By breaking down tricky topics and celebrating small wins, they can help rebuild your child's confidence.
Is tutoring just for school subjects, or can you help with other skills?
While we offer fantastic support for academic subjects from the 11+ to degree level, we also have tutors for a huge range of other skills. Whether your child wants to learn to play the guitar, start coding in Python, or learn a new language, we can help.
How long is a typical tutoring session?
Most sessions are one hour long, which gives enough time to cover a topic in depth without your child losing focus. However, you can arrange different session lengths by discussing it directly with your chosen tutor.
