Rory F
Rory is tutoring my son for his A level History and has been superb in his support from the get go. Rory has helped him understand the essay writing structure and technique distinctions between GCSE and A level. Rory's lessons are well planned and his advice and guidance tailored to detailed understanding of topic content and maximising the knowledge gleaned to various exam questions e.g. the difference between just describing and actual argument / evidence evaluation. Rory is very approachable and provides feedback to parents on how well lessons have progressed and, importantly, where the biggest opportunities are for the student ahead of their set homework. I would strongly recommend Rory as a tutor.

Brilliant History tutors who you’ll really click with.
Our experienced tutors take the time to understand where each student needs to focus and their preferred way of learning. They make a measurable difference – 90% of all students improve by at least one grade.
My child is aiming for Warwick University's history department. Can an online tutor really help them stand out?
Absolutely. Many of our tutors are graduates from top universities themselves. They can provide invaluable guidance on what admissions tutors are looking for, help your child explore super-curricular topics, and assist in crafting a personal statement that showcases their passion and analytical skills beyond the A-Level syllabus.
How can online tutoring complement my child's studies at a school like North Leamington?
Our tutors work alongside the school curriculum to reinforce and deepen understanding. They can fill any gaps, provide extra support on challenging topics, and focus specifically on the exam techniques and essay skills needed to turn a good grade into an excellent one, giving them an edge in a competitive school environment.
Is online tutoring as effective as having a tutor visit our home in Royal Leamington Spa?
We believe it’s even better. Online tutoring gives your child access to a much wider pool of specialists from across the UK, not just whoever is local. With interactive whiteboards and resource sharing, it’s just as engaging, plus it saves you travel time and fits flexibly around your family's schedule.
What happens if my child doesn't click with their first History tutor?
It's really important that your child feels comfortable and inspired by their tutor. If the first session isn't the perfect fit, please email our support team at support@tutorful.co.uk and we will cover the cost of your first lesson with a new tutor. We're here to help you find the right match.
How do you ensure your History tutors are high quality?
We have a rigorous selection process and only accept 1 in 8 tutors who apply. All our tutors are background-checked and interviewed to assess their subject expertise, teaching ability, and passion for helping students learn. It's why over 4,100 people have rated us 4.6/5 stars.
Can a tutor help with specific A-Level History topics, like the Tudors or Cold War history?
Yes. You can view each tutor's profile to see their areas of specialism. Whether it's a particular period, exam board, or skill like source analysis, you can find a tutor with the exact expertise your child needs for their studies.
My child loves History, but is also interested in Politics. Do you offer tutoring in related subjects?
We do! We have expert tutors across a huge range of subjects, including Politics, Law, Sociology, and Economics. Many students find that strengthening their skills in one humanities subject has a fantastic knock-on effect on others. You can search for any subject you need.
How much do online History lessons cost for a student in Royal Leamington Spa?
Prices vary depending on the tutor's experience and qualifications. Tutors set their own hourly rates, which are clearly displayed on their profiles. This allows you to find an experienced, high-quality tutor that also fits your budget.
What technology do we need for an online tutoring session?
It's very simple. All your child needs is a laptop or computer with a webcam, a microphone, and a stable internet connection. Our online classroom has all the tools they'll need, including an interactive whiteboard and document sharing.
Can a tutor help my child develop a genuine interest in history, not just pass exams?
This is at the heart of what we do. A great tutor's passion is infectious. They can connect historical events to your child's other interests or even local heritage in Warwickshire, bringing the subject to life and sparking a curiosity that goes far beyond the syllabus.
How long are the tutoring sessions and how often should they be?
Sessions are typically one hour long, and most students have one session per week. However, this is completely flexible. You can arrange frequency and session length directly with your tutor to create a schedule that works best for your child's needs and your family's routine.
My child loves History, but is also interested in Politics. Do you offer tutoring in related subjects?
Definitely. This is one of the most common areas where students need support. Our History tutors are experts in teaching essay structure, how to build a coherent argument, and how to use evidence effectively to achieve top marks. They can dedicate entire sessions to mastering this crucial skill.
