Richard H
Richard has been very helpful in the lead up to my A-Level Geography mocks - in 3 sessions we went over potential exam questions for the whole of the physical paper and the way he explains what the question is asking and the concepts within the specification is really useful! The way he teaches makes him easy to understand and to remember what he has said even after leaving the session! I would recommend him to anyone at any level of Geography as he is so clear and encouraging.

Lizzie M
Lizzie has been fantastic for my daughter and tutoring on Geography A Level 2nd year. She has supported her with specific topic work that she found tricky to grasp at school, followed by exam techniques and questions. Lizzie has given my daughter more confidence and motivation on this subject and has built a strong rapport quickly. She is very nurturing and approachable. I’ve seen the detailed feedback she gives on all the homework and is always prompt with marking, feedback and very organised. Lizzie can also support on any coursework feedback which we also did. I would highly recommend Lizzie for tutoring .

Farah F
I'm a gcse geography and biology student, and Farah has helped me so much. Not only do we go through the spec points with thorough, pre-made notes, she explains all the tricky concepts to me until I completely understand it. Most importantly, she is very friendly and easy to talk to. I always feel comfortable to ask questions or confirm whether my understanding of a topic or concept is correct.

Brilliant Geography tutors who you’ll really click with.
Our experienced tutors take the time to understand where each student needs to focus and their preferred way of learning. They make a measurable difference – 90% of all students improve by at least one grade.
My child is at Peter Symonds and aiming for a Russell Group university. Can a tutor help with this?
Absolutely. Many of our A-Level Geography tutors are experienced in helping students achieve the A and A* grades needed for top universities. They can focus on developing the higher-level analytical and essay-writing skills that admissions tutors look for, giving your child's application a competitive edge.
We live in Winchester, but does the tutor have to be local?
Not at all. The great thing about online tutoring is that it gives your child access to the best tutors across the entire UK, not just those in your immediate area. You can choose an expert based on their experience, teaching style, and specific A-Level knowledge, no matter where they live.
How do I choose the right Geography tutor for my child?
It's easy to find the perfect match. You can watch introductory videos, read reviews from other parents, and check each tutor's qualifications and experience. You can even message them for free before booking to make sure they're the right fit for your child's personality and learning goals.
What happens if we don't click with the first tutor?
We want to make sure you have the best experience, which is why we have a first lesson guarantee. If you don't get on with your tutor, email our support team at support@tutorful.co.uk and we will cover your first session with a new tutor.
How much does a Geography tutor cost?
Our tutors set their own hourly rates, typically starting from around £20 per hour. The price varies based on the tutor's experience and the level of study. You can easily filter your search to find a highly-rated tutor who fits within your budget.
How does online tutoring actually work?
It's simple and effective. Lessons take place in our purpose-built online classroom, which features video chat, an interactive whiteboard, and the ability to share documents. It has all the tools your child needs to collaborate with their tutor in real-time, just as if they were in the same room.
How can a tutor help my child feel more confident in Geography?
Confidence often comes from understanding. In a one-to-one setting, your child has a safe space to ask questions and work through topics at their own pace without the pressure of a full classroom. This personalised attention helps fill any knowledge gaps, which is a huge confidence booster.
Are the tutors familiar with the A-Level Geography curriculum?
Yes. Our tutors are experts in their subject and specify which exam boards they teach, such as AQA, Edexcel, or OCR. You can find a tutor with direct experience of the curriculum your child is studying to ensure the support they receive is perfectly aligned with what they'll face in their exams.
What happens in a typical A-Level Geography lesson?
Every lesson is tailored to your child's needs. A session might involve reviewing a tricky topic like global systems, working on exam techniques for long-answer questions, analysing data sources, or planning and structuring a high-scoring essay. The focus is always on what will help your child make the most progress.
Do you only offer academic subjects, or can my child learn other skills?
We offer tutoring in over 300 subjects! While we're here to help with core academic subjects like Geography, your child can also learn practical skills like coding, learn to play the guitar, or even practise a new language for a holiday. There's a tutor for almost any goal.
What makes Tutorful tutors different?
We pride ourselves on quality and safety. We only accept 1 in every 8 tutors who apply, and every tutor is background-checked. This means your child is learning from the best, in a safe and secure online environment.
How quickly can we get started?
You can get started very quickly. Simply search for a tutor, send them a message to arrange a time, and you could be having your first lesson within 24 hours. It's designed to be flexible and fit around your schedule.
