Rohan S
Helpful Geography tutor
Hi there! My name is Rohan and I currently tutor Maths, Economics and Geography, all of which I studied at A level. I’m now studying International Development with Economics at uni and I am in my third year. I did Geography and Maths at GCSE too, and achieved grade 9s in them. (Economics wasn’t offered as a GCSE at my school). I’ve tutored these subjects for over 4 years now and hope to be of help to you too! I am quite familiar with exam boards such as CIE, OCR, Edexcel, AQA etc. as I once was a student studying for those same boards. I know it can often be daunting as a student to ask for help ...

Richard H
Richard has been very helpful in the lead up to my A-Level Geography mocks - in 3 sessions we went over potential exam questions for the whole of the physical paper and the way he explains what the question is asking and the concepts within the specification is really useful! The way he teaches makes him easy to understand and to remember what he has said even after leaving the session! I would recommend him to anyone at any level of Geography as he is so clear and encouraging.

Lizzie M
Lizzie has been fantastic for my daughter and tutoring on Geography A Level 2nd year. She has supported her with specific topic work that she found tricky to grasp at school, followed by exam techniques and questions. Lizzie has given my daughter more confidence and motivation on this subject and has built a strong rapport quickly. She is very nurturing and approachable. I’ve seen the detailed feedback she gives on all the homework and is always prompt with marking, feedback and very organised. Lizzie can also support on any coursework feedback which we also did. I would highly recommend Lizzie for tutoring .

Brilliant Geography tutors who you’ll really click with.
Our experienced tutors take the time to understand where each student needs to focus and their preferred way of learning. They make a measurable difference – 90% of all students improve by at least one grade.
My child is aiming for a competitive school like Tiffin. Can a tutor prepare them for the Geography-specific parts of the entrance process?
Absolutely. Many of our tutors are experienced in preparing students for entrance exams and interviews for selective schools. They can focus on the specific analytical and essay-writing skills required, building both the knowledge and the confidence your child needs to perform at their best on the day.
We're hoping for a top university like UCL for Geography. Do you have tutors who can help with that?
Yes. We have tutors who are graduates from top universities, including those in the Russell Group. They can provide invaluable guidance on A-Level performance, personal statements, and interview techniques, offering real insight into what admissions tutors are looking for.
Is online tutoring really as effective as having someone visit our home in south-west-london?
We believe it’s even better. Online tutoring gives your child access to the best tutors from across the UK, not just those who live locally. They can learn from subject specialists, university graduates, and experienced teachers, all from the comfort of your home. Plus, our interactive whiteboard and lesson recordings make for a truly engaging learning experience.
Can a tutor help my child use local south-west-london examples in their coursework?
Definitely. A good tutor can help your child apply geographical concepts to their local environment, whether it's studying river processes on the Thames, analysing urban regeneration in Battersea, or looking at transport links from Clapham Junction. This makes their learning more relevant and their coursework stand out.
How do you ensure your tutors are qualified and safe to work with my child?
We take safety and quality very seriously. Every tutor is interviewed by a member of our team and must provide a valid DBS check. We are incredibly selective, accepting only 1 in every 8 tutors who apply, so you can be sure your child is learning from the best.
What happens if the first tutor isn't the right fit for my child?
It's really important that your child and their tutor get on well. We have a first lesson guarantee, so if it's not the right fit, just email our support team at support@tutorful.co.uk and we will cover the cost of your first session with a new tutor.
My child also struggles with the maths needed for data analysis in Geography. Can we find a tutor who covers both?
Yes, many of our tutors have multi-disciplinary skills. You can use our search filters to find tutors who are strong in both Geography and Maths, ensuring your child gets joined-up support. This is a huge benefit of having a wide choice of tutors from across the country.
How much does online Geography tutoring cost for a student in south-west-london?
Our tutors set their own hourly rates, typically starting from £25 per hour, depending on their experience and level of expertise. You can see each tutor's price clearly on their profile, so you can find someone who fits your budget and your child's needs perfectly.
How will I know if my child is making real progress?
Our tutors provide regular feedback on your child's development. You can also message your tutor at any time to discuss their progress. The biggest sign for many parents is a change in their child's confidence – when they start talking positively about the subject and tackling homework without a fuss.
Do you offer tutoring for all levels, from KS3 up to A-Level?
Yes, we have a wide range of tutors who specialise in different levels, from introducing core concepts at Key Stage 3 and building confidence for GCSEs, right through to the complex topics and critical analysis required for A-Levels.
My child has a lot of after-school activities. How flexible is the scheduling?
That's one of the main reasons families love online tutoring. You can arrange sessions at times that suit you, whether that's evenings, weekends, or during school holidays. It's designed to fit around your family's busy schedule, not the other way around.
My child also struggles with the maths needed for data analysis in Geography. Can we find a tutor who covers both?
We offer tutoring in over 300 subjects! Alongside core academic subjects like Maths, English and the Sciences, we have tutors for modern languages, humanities, music tuition, coding, and even professional development skills. There's support available for every stage of your child's learning.
