Richard H
Richard has been very helpful in the lead up to my A-Level Geography mocks - in 3 sessions we went over potential exam questions for the whole of the physical paper and the way he explains what the question is asking and the concepts within the specification is really useful! The way he teaches makes him easy to understand and to remember what he has said even after leaving the session! I would recommend him to anyone at any level of Geography as he is so clear and encouraging.

Brilliant Geography tutors who you’ll really click with.
Our experienced tutors take the time to understand where each student needs to focus and their preferred way of learning. They make a measurable difference – 90% of all students improve by at least one grade.
My child is aiming for LSE or UCL. Can a tutor really help them stand out in Geography?
Absolutely. Our tutors specialise in stretching ambitious students. They focus on developing the sophisticated analytical and critical thinking skills that top universities look for, moving beyond the A-Level curriculum to explore university-level concepts and debate current geopolitical and environmental issues. This helps build a deeper understanding that shines through in personal statements, interviews, and exams.
How can online tutoring complement the teaching at a demanding school like The St Marylebone CE School?
We see tutoring as a powerful partnership with formal education. Whilst your child's school provides an excellent foundation, a one-to-one tutor can offer personalised attention to target specific areas of difficulty, explore topics of interest in greater depth, or focus relentlessly on perfecting exam technique. It's a focused, tailored supplement that helps consolidate learning and build confidence.
Is it possible for a tutor to use London's geography as a real-world case study?
Yes, many of our tutors excel at this. Using London's urban landscape—from regeneration in King's Cross to the financial hub of the City—as a living case study is a fantastic way to make concepts like urban development, inequality, and sustainability tangible and relevant for a student living in Marylebone.
How does online tutoring actually work?
It's simple and effective. All lessons take place via video call in our purpose-built online classroom. It features an interactive whiteboard, file sharing, and live chat, making it just as engaging as being in the same room. Your child can learn from the comfort of your Marylebone home, connecting with their tutor at a time that suits your family.
What if my child doesn't click with their first Geography tutor?
Finding the right fit is everything, and we want you to be completely happy. If the first session with a tutor isn't quite right, simply email our support team at support@tutorful.co.uk and we will cover the cost of your first lesson with a new tutor. It's part of our commitment to finding the perfect match.
How do you ensure your Geography tutors are high quality?
We're incredibly selective. Only 1 in 8 tutors who apply make it onto our platform. Every tutor is interviewed by a real person, has their qualifications checked, and must pass a background check. We look for passionate subject experts who are also brilliant communicators.
Can a tutor help with specific parts of the A-Level, like the NEA (coursework)?
Yes, many of our Geography tutors have extensive experience guiding students through their Non-Examined Assessment (NEA). They can help with everything from refining a research question and methodology to structuring the final report, providing expert feedback whilst adhering to exam board rules on independent work.
We live in Marylebone but are all tutors UK-based?
That's exactly the advantage of online tutoring. Our tutors are based all across the UK, from university researchers in Scotland to experienced teachers in Cornwall. This gives your child access to a much wider pool of expertise than if you were limited to tutors physically located in central London.
How much does online Geography tutoring cost?
Our tutors set their own rates based on their experience and qualifications, so prices vary. You can easily see each tutor's hourly rate on their profile. There are no hidden fees or contracts, so you can find expert help that fits your budget.
Do you offer tutoring for other subjects besides Geography?
We do! We have expert tutors across more than 300 subjects, from core GCSE and A-Level subjects like Maths and English to university-level topics, modern languages, and even practical skills like coding or music theory.
How quickly can we find a tutor and start lessons?
Very quickly. You can browse tutor profiles, send messages to ask questions, and book your first session in just a few clicks. Many families are able to find the perfect tutor and have their first lesson scheduled within 24-48 hours.
Can a tutor help with specific parts of the A-Level, like the NEA (coursework)?
It's very simple. All your child needs is a laptop or computer with a stable internet connection, a webcam, and a microphone. Our online classroom is browser-based, so there's no complicated software to download.
