I am passionate about education and enjoy working in an area where I can help others to fulfil their learning potential. Since 2014 I have been tutoring children (and occasionally adults), covering English, Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning, and Maths. I was also a home educator for over a decade, taking full responsibility for the education of my own children, both at primary and secondary level, in all subjects. I will take the time to get to know each student’s individual needs and abilities so that I can deliver lessons in the way that works best for them.I have a proven track record in helping r...

Friendly, enthusiastic English Tutor
I absolutely love what I do, and channel that enthusiasm within each of my lessons. I believe a child can very easily see if a teacher is passionate about what they are teaching, which is why I believe only those who absolutely love their profession should teach. I want to provide the most engaging and challenging lesson for myself, because I hold very high standards for my quality of work, but more importantly, for the child. I want a child to leave each session safe in the knowledge that they have learnt something new that day.I like to approach each session differently, learning what interests...

Hello! My name is Caitlin and I am thrilled to meet you all. Maths and English are my passion. Also, I tutor British Sign language (BSL), in which I have over 10+ years experience.Additionally, I have been tutoring for 6 years now. I am familiar with the OCR, Edexcel and AQA boards. I use a variety of teaching resources and materials. I cover from 11+ to Functional skills to Foundation and even to Higher. Each lesson is a vital learning point...
Ben is an amazing tutor, he’s really got my step son who has Asperger’s to engage, lessons are planned and structured, post lesson feedback given which really helps as I can send it over to his mom after his lesson and know what he needs to revise. Definitely a worthwhile investment in my step sons future!

Holly E
Holly has been tutoring my son in English GCSE for the last half term. He has found the lessons very useful, working in a logical order through the different aspects of the curriculum. Holly is friendly, approachable and encouraging.
My Son has just had his mock exam results and has moved from just hitting an exam grade boundary to being 2 points off the next grade up. We are very pleased at his progress in a short space of time.

Mamun A
My son is really improving since starting lessons with Mamun. From the start of the lesson getting almost all questions wrong to by the end completely understanding it all. Tested him a few days later and he got almost every question right without any help at all he remembered all the punctuation in all questions, shocked how much he's improved from just one lesson on it! Mamun's teaching is brilliant and it really seems to stick in my sons head. Also my son is very fussy with his ASD/ADHD and is often open about his feelings towards people, especially new people most often than not he will say he doesn't like this person because of this or that, but he said he likes his tutor and wants to do more lessons which is brilliant. Mamun is always on time, very patient and explains thoroughly, he gives brilliant feedback afterwards too. Highly recommend this tutor and I'm glad I chose him rather than someone else.

Nadiah K
Nadiah is an AMAZING English tutor.
Nadiah is very reliable, organised and efficient, prompting and guiding my son to keep on track outside of sessions aswell. I have had feedback from school after just a few months that the quality of my sons writing has improved significantly and teachers have asked if he has been doing anything different.
My son is also developing more of an interest in the subject which has been really nice to see.

Brilliant English tutors who you’ll really click with.
Our experienced tutors take the time to understand where each student needs to focus and their preferred way of learning. They make a measurable difference – 90% of all students improve by at least one grade.
My child wants to apply to Franklin College. Can a tutor help them get the GCSE English grade they need?
Absolutely. Our tutors are experienced in helping students secure the grades needed for competitive sixth forms and colleges. They can focus on the specific areas of the GCSE English curriculum your child finds challenging, helping them build the knowledge and exam technique to achieve their target grade and confidently take that next step.
We're worried about the step up to A-Levels at Tollbar. Can a tutor help prepare my child for that?
Yes, many parents use Tutorful to help bridge the gap between GCSE and A-Level. A tutor can work with your child to introduce them to the more advanced analytical and critical thinking skills required for A-Level English, ensuring they feel prepared and confident from their very first day at sixth form.
How do I choose the right English tutor for my child?
It's a really personal choice. You can read detailed tutor profiles, watch their introductory videos, and check reviews from other parents. We recommend messaging a few tutors to discuss your child's specific needs before booking. Finding someone your child connects with is the most important thing.
What happens if my child doesn't click with their first tutor?
We want to make sure you find the perfect match. With our First Lesson Guarantee, if you don't get on with your tutor, email our support team at support@tutorful.co.uk and we will cover your first session with a new tutor.
How much does an online English tutor in North East Lincolnshire cost?
Prices vary depending on the tutor's experience and qualifications, but you can expect to pay between £25 and £45 per hour. Tutors set their own rates, and you can easily filter by price on our website to find someone who fits your budget.
How do I know the tutors are safe and qualified?
Your child's safety is our top priority. Every tutor is interviewed, has their ID and qualifications verified, and must provide a valid DBS check. We are very selective, accepting only 1 in 8 tutors who apply, so you can be sure your child is in safe, expert hands.
My child has lost their confidence in English. Can a tutor help with that?
Definitely. This is one of the biggest benefits of one-to-one tutoring. A great tutor provides a supportive, encouraging environment where your child can ask questions without feeling embarrassed. Rebuilding that self-belief is often the first step to seeing their grades improve.
How does online tutoring actually work?
It's simple and effective. Lessons take place in our online classroom, which features a video chat, an interactive whiteboard, and the ability to share documents. It's a secure and convenient way for your child to learn from home.
Can a tutor help with both English Language and English Literature?
Yes, most of our English tutors are experts in both and can tailor lessons to cover whichever area your child needs the most help with, whether that's analysing poetry for Literature or mastering grammar for Language.
What are the benefits of one-to-one tutoring compared to a classroom?
In a one-to-one session, the lesson is entirely focused on your child. They can learn at their own pace and ask questions whenever they need to. The tutor can adapt their teaching style to match your child's way of learning, which is something that's very difficult to do in a class of 30.
How long will it take to see an improvement in my child's English grades?
Every child learns differently, so there's no set timeline. However, many parents tell us they see a boost in their child's confidence after just a few sessions. Consistent lessons are key to building knowledge and seeing that translate into better grades.
Is it just for school subjects like English, or can my child learn other skills too?
While we have tutors for all academic subjects, we also offer support for a huge range of other skills and hobbies. Whether your child wants to learn to play the guitar, get started with coding, or even learn a new language for fun, you can find a brilliant tutor on Tutorful.
