John M
John has been working with my son for the past two months. In that time, he has shown a real passion in helping my son succeed. Apart from the scheduled lessons, John takes the time to review my son's school work to ensure he is confident and can excel at school. John also goes through optimal writing strategies during the tutor sessions that my son can transfer to what he is learning in class.
Overall, John is a great tutor and I would highly recommend!

Harry L
Our son has dyslexia and had taken his GCSE English several times without passing. He was demoralized with the whole process. We had 6 weeks before the next attempt and we were lucky enough to find Harry. He said that in his first lesson with him he had learnt more about exam technique than he had in all of his GCSE lessons. Today he got a grade 5 which seemed impossible before Harry's tutor sessions. Thankyou very much Harry, our family is extremely grateful for your particular teaching skills and supporting our son to success.

Brilliant English tutors who you’ll really click with.
Our experienced tutors take the time to understand where each student needs to focus and their preferred way of learning. They make a measurable difference – 90% of all students improve by at least one grade.
My child attends Ysgol Eirias and is worried about their GCSE English grade. Can a tutor help?
Absolutely. Many of our tutors are experienced in helping students with the specific requirements of the Welsh curriculum. They can work with your child on everything from analysing set texts to improving their essay technique, building their confidence ahead of their exams.
Can a tutor help my child with their application to a Welsh university like Bangor or Cardiff?
Yes, definitely. A strong personal statement is crucial for university applications. An English tutor can help your child structure their thoughts, refine their writing, and present themselves in the best possible light, which is a fantastic skill for their Welsh Baccalaureate and beyond.
What if my child doesn't click with their first tutor?
We understand that the right fit is important. That's why we have our First Lesson Guarantee. If you don't get on with your tutor for any reason, just email our support team at support@tutorful.co.uk and we will cover your first session with a new tutor.
Is tutoring just for school subjects like English?
Not at all! While we help thousands of students with academic subjects from Maths to English, we also have brilliant tutors who can teach life-long skills and hobbies. Whether your child wants to learn to play the guitar, get started with coding, or even learn a new language, we can help.
How do I choose the right English tutor for my child?
You can use our search filters to find tutors based on their experience, price, and availability. We recommend watching their introduction videos and reading reviews from other parents. You can also message tutors before booking to make sure they're a good match for your child's personality and learning goals.
How much does online English tutoring cost in Conwy County?
Our tutors set their own prices, with rates for English tutoring typically starting from £15 per hour. The price often reflects a tutor's experience and qualifications. You can see each tutor's rate clearly on their profile, so you can find someone who fits your budget.
How does online tutoring actually work?
It's simple! All lessons take place in our purpose-built online classroom. Your child and their tutor can talk using video chat, share documents, and use the interactive whiteboard to work through problems together. All you need is a laptop or computer and a stable internet connection.
Are your tutors safe and background-checked?
Yes, your child's safety is our top priority. Every tutor on our platform has passed a background check. We also interview every single tutor and only accept 1 in every 8 who apply, so you can be sure your child is in safe, expert hands.
How can a tutor help my child build confidence in English?
Confidence often comes from understanding. In a one-to-one setting, your child has a safe space to ask questions they might be too shy to ask in class. Tutors can break down complex topics, celebrate small wins, and adapt their teaching style, which helps your child feel more capable and positive about the subject.
What qualifications do your English tutors have?
Our English tutors come from a wide range of backgrounds. Many are qualified teachers, examiners, or university graduates with degrees in English. You can view each tutor's full qualifications, experience, and DBS status on their profile to help you make an informed choice.
How long are the tutoring sessions?
The standard lesson length is one hour, which gives enough time to cover a topic in depth without your child losing focus. However, you can discuss different lesson lengths with your tutor to find what works best for your child's schedule and concentration span.
How often should my child have a lesson?
Most families find that one session per week is ideal for consistent progress. This allows your child to build on what they've learned and tackle any new challenges from school. For more intensive support, such as before an exam, you can easily arrange more frequent sessions with your tutor.
